I got a Typewriter recently. And it’s got a cursive font on it.
This is taking the “politely” part seriously.

As soon as I can look at this typewriter for more than 5 seconds I’m removing the ribbon and putting it on the typewriter that doesn’t eat brand new very nice cotton typewriter ribbons. When I can look at it for even longer I’ll see if I can fix it, or if it’s better to sell (I guess I don’t really need 3 typewriters).
IDK if it’s the model or this typewriter in particular, but the Smith Corona Classic 12 has been a lemon when it comes to moving the ribbon. First the mechanism was gummed up with ancient grease and wouldn’t move until I degreased it, then it struggled to advance the ribbon at all. Now it won’t move at all unless I do it manually, leaving the letter slugs to slap the same spot over and over again until it tears a hole in the ribbon.
