A delightful recipe for lil smokies with a spicy twist, smoked to perfection for a flavorful appetizer or party snack.
Ingredients: 1 lb lil smokies sausages. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup honey. 2 tbsp soy sauce. 1 tbsp Dijon mustard. 1 tsp smoked paprika. 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper. 1/2 tsp garlic powder. 1/4 tsp black pepper. Wood chips for smoking.
Instructions: Preheat smoker to 225F 107C. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper to create the marinade. Place lil smokies in a resealable plastic bag and pour half of the marinade over them. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Soak wood chips in water for 30 minutes to prepare for smoking. Thread lil smokies onto skewers for easy handling on the smoker. Place soaked wood chips in the smoker box and arrange lil smokies skewers on the smoker racks. Smoke lil smokies at 225F 107C for 2 hours, adding more wood chips as needed for a smoky flavor. Brush remaining marinade onto lil smokies during the last 30 minutes of smoking. Once smoked, remove lil smokies from the smoker and serve hot.
