The SMRT platform just had a big update, mostly concerning accounting and POS.
When a statement customer visits the website, they’re shown their full statement and can now add a card to immediately pay their balance. The card is saved and can be used for future payments.
First off, we have a new panel under the customer account called Payment. This panel gives a full view of the customer’s account from a financial standpoint. Sales, invoices, payments and credits are listed in chronological order and show the ending balance on the top line. From here, you can add customer credits, manage payment preferences and send invoices.
In the above example, the customer is all paid up (due to our awesome automatic credit card billing), but the customer has been credited $11.49 so the ending balance is negative. By pressing the print button to the right of a payment, it’s possible to view, print and email a payment receipt. By pressing “manage card”, you can review the customer’s current credit card and add a new one. The card on file is working, but in case it was declined details about that would be shown.
We’ve created a detailed sales report showing sales broken by department and store/route. You can view intake for a specific day, but also show sales numbers for an entire month or even a year! When looking at the current day, the report shows live intake. It’s available under Accounting >Incoming Sales.
Another report we’re really excited about is the new income report. We’ve optimized this report to be as useful as possible for accountants reconciling your books. Each cell corresponds to a deposit amount you will see in your bank statement. We’ve separated American Express into its own line because those deposits show up 5 days later than other credit cards.
The new cash box report can be found under Admin >Cash box. It now lists individual cash transactions for a given day, and the difference at closing (if any).
The payment box has received a major overhaul. Orders between multiple monthly invoices can now be paid at the same time, instead of having to apply a payment to each invoice individually. You can now take payments in the system even when the internet at the store is down, it’s super fast and the clerk doesn’t even notice if they’re offline!
Receipts now show itemized pricing, including discounts to make it easy for the customer to see how much they’ve saved!
Advanced discounts can now be created and applied only to certain items. For example, below is how a $1 discount per shirt on an order is defined:
