I’m not really one to overly complain about how women are treated on multiplayer games, but this really got me. 

First of all, smurfing in Overwatch (on console) is horrendous in Competitive mode. There was an enemy Sombra and Mercy (Sombra’s name was “Genji or Throw”) and both were just barely able to play ranked. They spawn camped our second healer 4 times, Mercy was going battle Mercy and headshotting my teammates, Sombra was well, being Sombra, but when you watch the kill cam, it’s very high sensitivity, not a ‘newbie’ level 25. 

So, every time I killed one of them, I t-bagged. Not mature, but I don’t agree with smurfing at all whatsoever. So they BOTH message me and ask me the “why did you bag?” and I replied saying they were smurfs and should go back and play with their own skill level. So when the Mercy kills me, she t-bags. So yeah, the way more experienced smurf t-bags someone below their skill level because they’re tired of being killed repeatedly. 

I was invited to a party after the game was over and of course, it was full of older guys, probably in their 20s or early 30s. They start talking over me, but the second I speak up, I get told, “cute” and “let me get your number”. I ignore it and try to talk with them about smurfing, then they try to deflect and say that I was Moira. I’m sorry I changed and was actually healing my team? 

The Overwatch community has some of the worst pieces of trash I have ever come across. The fact that smurf accounts have yet to really be taken down is even worse, and the people behind them are always rude men. You’re going to argue with me, then condescendingly ask for my number. Great.
