Feeling snacky this #FoodieFriday? Time for a trip to the Automatic Products Company’s Snackshop II. I just love that solid state escrow changer action.
The Automatic Products Company got its start in 1949, when it began marketing a cigarette vending machine called the Smokeshop. In the ensuing years, the company created the first all-electronic, glass-front vending system (introduced in 1976) and the first coffee-vending system that ground and brewed the beans at the time of purchase (released in 1984), and, of course, the Snackshop II (the gem of them all). It also marketed a soft drink dispensing machine in 2000 called the ‘RoboQuencher’, which I am totally there for.
