I am nervous about whether this chapter will entertain people enough for them to stick around through probably ~4k words at this point because there's a lot of starting and stopping in it, but I do hope my micro comrades' crops will be watered

honestly at this point in time the vibe with Tir and Snag is definitely that meme with heart symbol on one side and thumbs up on the other

Like there's probably generally been a bit more focus on now attractive Tir is to Snag in this one because it's a new variable, and he's pissed off about it.

But he is so overwhelmingly attracted to Juniper. He will not allow you to forget that she's so smart and nice and beautiful. He's very "Me with the 10 I pulled by... uh... um... I don't know. How did I?"

Trying to decide if writing a line like "her brown eyes practically sparkled" is too cheesy, but the thing is that this is from Snag's perspective, and he really is that cheesy about it.

He's not going to shut up about Juniper's deep brown eyes or Tir's stupid luminous gray ones anytime soon.

The funny thing about Snag is that, yes, he's jealous of Tir in certain ways, but not really the ways you'd necessarily expect. He's utterly chill with Tir touching and having sex with Juniper. This legitimately does not bother him. But as mentioned, he does resent him a little for being able to do things he can't, like fall asleep with Juniper.

He's not even really threatened by their closeness--it isn't that someone else is important to Juniper, that someone else is receiving her love. He's jealous that Tir knows things he doesn't. That they have an easiness with each other and a mutual understanding that he hasn't had time to develop.

Tir, though?

Tir is absolutely jealous.

Not about Juniper. He's totally comfortable in their dynamic. Tir is jealous of Juniper. His heart is irrationally squeezing every time the cute but brusque and wary boy he met a week ago and got off on the wrong foot with is sooooo sweet and nice and confident with her compared to him. 😩 And this started as early as. Probably immediately (post-attack).
