Still working on the bots, but these characters have emerged for last post's scenario.
Engineer/magitech nerd and mechanic, respectively. Not sure if they're part of a larger crew or if they're just partners who take on jobs as needed. They both know their way around machinery and can work together on just about anything, but the engineer is better with delicate work and diagnostics while the mechanic likes to Get In There. They probably also do asset retrieval and search for scrap, which would be how they come across the weapon cores in the first place.
Engi is tired and practical except when it comes to magitech, in which case he goes a bit overboard. Mechanic probably likes booze and money and has a tendency toward violence. Maybe kind of like a mix of Gene Starwind and Ryoko lol (although I'm not sure if she's a philanderer or not, I kinda like the idea of neither of them knowing what to do about the robots making out in the corner).
Thinking about soft scifi fantasy since that's a setting type I vibe with but don't really have any active characters for currently, and living weapons have also been on the brain...
Ancient magitech weapons with sentient cores get found by some space mercenary who's a bit of a magitech nerd. Maybe they even get found by a whole crew, although there will probably be one particular magitech nerd amongst them. They can't bear the thought of selling them off to someone who would actually use them as a weapon (either because they're bombs or just because they would be in harm's way and likely to be damaged or destroyed). You can't just let a genuine antique core go to waste like that.
(Maybe the ability to make real sapient tech is also now lost. Unsure on this though.)
So they move them into something else, but... all they have available is a couple of sex doll androids. They either belong to someone on board and are without any sentience, just programmed scenarios, or they're deactivated/coreless junk that just happened to be kicking around from a weird job. Gotta figure that out, too.
Of the pair, one is a bit out of touch, aloof, and contemplative. They're a lot less naive than they might appear at first glance, and they're struggling with feelings of purposelessness. At least shit was simple before... but they couldn't even manage something so simple, apparently (not that they had a choice, being a tool incapable of acting on its own). There might be something a bit more bitter and ugly lurking underneath. They're also a bit reckless and lack self-preservation.
The other is pretty opposite: they lamented their purpose, so they couldn't be more excited to have a new life. They're talkative, happy-go-lucky, blunt, and a little brazen, although still probably given to fits of melancholy and melodrama. They deeply fear death and destruction, and that hasn't lessened even a little bit. They are cowardly. And probably also clingy.
The rest of the cast is pretty thin right now, though. I'm trying to sort out whether this is going to be a throuple kind of deal or if we've got something more extended going on.

but he hates socializing, gets overstimulated in noisy situations (even when he was a human, and now it's even worse), and is generally very hard to live with
he wants to be spoiled and treated like a housecat, but only if he likes you and trusts you, and only if you do it right (exactly how he wants you to do it)
what does anyone get out of this? well. his charming and fulfilling company, of course

Controlling a vampire with your blood is literally easy, you guys. It's all about the mindset. That man is not a shark in the water; he's a dog at the end of a short red leash.
Reading a silly and bad vampire BL novel that I only finished to see which kind of contrived it was going to be when it ended, how it was going to dig itself out of the unwinnable situation it had set up--and it exceeded my expectations, even.
But the rest aside, "vampires can also survive on saliva and cum instead of/in addition to blood" is the kind of horny nonsense I can get behind. It's probably nothing novel, but I don't think I've ever come across it before. Hmm. Hmmmmm.
