Snaibsel Pride 2017: Coming Out - Zatanna

So, my personal headcanon is that Zatanna is lesbian and Catholic. I think she always knew she liked girls, but when we meet her on the show, she is trying to find some way to still like boys because she thinks it’s expected of her and she wants badly for her father to approve of her. I think she felt a genuine and immediate connection to Dick and it was easy to pretend to herself that the connection was romantic, not platonic. Since he was already clearly interested in her, it was also easy for her to kiss him at New Years and act straight. I think during the time skip (growing older, gaining life experience, losing her father/not having to live up to his expectations anymore, etc), she came to terms with being a lesbian and was able to find the balance between her faith and her sexuality.

Okay, so my personal headcanon is that Artemis has always known she was bi. She had bigger things to worry about (being raised by Sportsmaster, her mom in prison, her sister’s abandonment, internal struggle over whether or not she could be a hero raised by a villain... you know, the usual) and so she just never really cared and accepted it about herself. It was never a secret, but she never really advertised it either. It was just who she was, she’s “one of a kind.”
