⚠︎ TW: DRUGS / OVERDOSE / MURDER ⚠︎ snake was raised by his mother- a drug addict with an overbearing dealer, a man Snake only knew as Doug. Snake's mother overdosed when Snake was eight years old, he found her in the bathroom when he came home from school that day. With no family (Snake's father never stuck around, Snake doesn't even know who his father is) members to take him in, Snake was put into the foster system. Snake was passed around and rejected by families for his bad temperament and drug addiction; he kept in contact with Doug even after his mother's death. Doug was pretty much all Snake had, and was dependent on him. Snake met a boy named Todd at one of the many foster homes Snake stayed at. While Snake only lasted a couple months with Todd's family, Snake grew incredibly close and obsessive with Todd. Snake was clingy with him and followed him everywhere, even cutting off Doug and laying off the drugs a bit with Todd's encouragement. It all changed when Todd got his first girlfriend, Laurie. Laurie was a ray of sunshine to everyone and anyone, but Snake hated her simply because she changed his and Todd's dynamic. He was jealous. Snake wanted to know what made her so special- what made her better than him. So, after the trio was drinking one day, Snake offered to walk Laurie home. Todd, not seeing anything wrong with it and trusting Snake, allowed it. As they were walking on an overpass, Snake tried to kiss her, conflicted by his feelings. They got into a fight- pushing each other drunkenly... Snake pushed her too hard, and she fell over the overpass and onto the highway. He claimed it was an accident; she got too drunk and stumbled off the edge. He tried to help her, he insisted... Todd was different since the accident, severely depressed. Where Todd had been Snake's rock, Snake became Todd's support. Snake didn't like it- he hated being the comforter, the supporter... So, Snake abandoned Todd.
