Oriental Darter (Snakebird). A Near Threatened species of bird. A giraffe equivalent in birds.

a somewhat-evil sort-of-alien-prince-bad-guy (named Borealis) and a blind, unfazed and unusually accepting human girl he develops an unhealthy attachment to (though he doesn’t think its unhealthy, but he also doesn’t know what a crush is and is confused and nervous about why he so badly wants to put his mouth on her mouth and hold her and never let her go)

Okay but does your body work like a snake? Where you're like cold blooded and you get colder much easier and have to be kept warm? Does Bella have to keep you warm?

I do run colder than I used to. Only slightly - I am not entirely cold-blooded, but I do chill easily. Heavy woolen robes do not warm me as much as others in the winter unless I am quite warm to begin with - my lessened body heat takes longer to warm me. It is why I keep a fire in the grates of my rooms when many would not - and yes, a reason why having Bella in my bed is pleasing.
