The Mallingamptious Slindinger
for short: the mally (or however else you’d like)
General lore/behavior/what is it:
omnivores, though they typically go for plants
they don’t actually hunt for prey. Instead that plant-tail attracts bugs and rodents who think it’s a berry or flower. the tail lets out a chemical when squeezed or bitten that causes drowsiness, and the mally gets a free coma-rodent for its troubles.
this also effects larger animals, but not enough to make them pass out. domesticated mally are often trained as therapy animals because they can calm people and help them sleep. They’re generally peaceful and even affectionate if they truly trust someone.
Physical features:
several eyes for good seein’ predators, big ears to stay alert and know when they’ve caught something (long body=long earshot), weird holes on their belly to help movement and suction to things, and fluff for warmth (and cuddles)
summary: snake-rabbit-thing has a sleep tail and is spider-man
Recommended bait:
-food (preferably plants)
Shelter rules:
-give them something to wrap around (tube, branch, arm, etc). It makes them comfortable and easy to transport.
Played some Gartic Phone with @terebiki, @puffinu, and Greenbox, and this was one of our lovely creations in Exquisite Corpse.
For context, one of us drew the Spamton Head, but didn't go past the visibility line, so the next person couldn't see the bottom of the head. So now we have this :)
My college group tried to make me shut up and accept what happened
I didn't agree with the grade I got in literature, because I did what I was told to do, but I brought my own vision to it, because it was a creative work and I wasn't forbidden to do that.
And after I mentioned a couple of times that I would go talk to our supervisor about it anyway, after a while, a few people in our chat started telling me not to do it, that it wouldn't help, and so on.
I really don't understand why they did that, maybe because they were afraid of something, or maybe there was another reason. At least they mentioned something about the band's reputation.
In any case, I didn't listen to them and did what I was going to do. I told them that they couldn't stop me with words, and most likely, even if they tied me to a chair, it wouldn't stop me.
Okay, so apparently it's my thing to turn people against me just because I don't do what they don't want me to do. At least the tutor and a different teacher (she doesn't teach with us) told me that I did the right thing
My head still can't let go of this argument, and I don't want to deal with it for the second day in a row, but my brain doesn't think that way.
creature of the day is
the caecilian!
*At first the sight was one of chaos. There was red paint everywhere in her room. Literally. On the floor, the walls AND the ceiling! Luckily no body else was with her so the princess could investigate the matter alone.*
*Her eyes moved towards the corner immediately. An empty canvas rested on the easel and below stood a few paint buckets. The one with the bright red paint had fallen over and something seemed to have crawled right through it, as it left a nice long track behind.*
*Yolena kept following the track to the wall, and then up the wall onto the ceiling and it went across the room to the other side and down the wall again and then towards her bed and ... it disappeared underneath.*
*She was just about the peek underneath her bed being all brave when something shuffled about and emerged from the gap.*
(Yolena stands in the doorway, mouth slightly agape as she takes in the full breadth of the paint disaster.)
Oh—oh no…! Lydia is going to be so mad…
(As the creature slips under her bed, Yolena stops moving mid-track, before rushing to the bedside)
Hey! Don’t disappear on me! I don’t want to be the one in trouble! That’s not fair!
…
Alright, just gotta…bend down and lure the…whatever it is out. Totally doable for a super brave princess!
(The creature pops out from under the bed.) Ah!
Oh, you’re cute… (Yolena runs around to where the creature emerged, picking the strange thing up, keeping it at arms reach as it wiggles in her hold)
…is what I'd say if you hadn’t gotten paint all over my room!!
Now what do I do…?
