More Armoury Work - 23rd November 2012
Snap Fire commissions:
So it's been a busy day so far. I've just varnished up the black Snap Fire case and assembled the blue and white complete blaster (with help from Olly, of course). Photos of the assembled blue one will have to wait, I'm afraid because I was too eager and packed it in my armoury case for this evening before photographing it.
The matt varnish makes this look awesome.
Nite Finders:
Over the course of the last few days, we've modified 10 Nite Finders (there are only 6 in this picture) by removing their ARs, adding padding and swapping the crap little red LEDs for super bright white LEDs to give our newbies something to see with in the dark games. Keep an eye out for my post on how to swap up the LEDs easily in the next few hours.
Katarina's Battery Tray:
I've reached the last thing to do on my roster today: repair my Stampede battery tray. I've learned a lot from doing trays for Ymir and the Stampfire so I was able to modify the usual implementation for this scenario. Back when I first inserted the battery tray, I removed the springs so a completely removable battery tray was out of the question. Instead, I took the existing wires from the old tray configuration, drilled a hole into the tray and fed them through.
I anchored the cables in place with a little glue to protect the solder joins and then proceeded to add new battery cases to the tray. Currently, they're placed in the middle of the tray and are providing 4-5 rounds of foam death a second. :D
I've removed the case clips and will replace them shortly. For this evening, however, I've simply screwed the tray into the case and Katarina can join the society's other two Stampedes for our evening session.
