i think we need to start oppressing anime icons more. like sorry but if u have an anime character for an icon you don't get to make jokes abt the picrews! anime urls are worse than the dashed phrases or sentences i SAID WHAT I SAID.
and tbh like. i made a post recently making fun of the lack of scottish characters in marvel comics but tbh it is like... a problem. like when it comes to their european characters... they're not there to represent anyone, they're just there to be funny if that makes sense? like when i see a queer character, that's good, it feels like representation! they're trying (however misguided) to make an effort to give more visibility to a minority but when it comes to scottish or irish characters (and definitely more than these two groups! but this is just where i've noticed it, being scottish-irish) they're just there bc funny accent and place that is not united states if that makes sense. like i dunno, i'd honestly prefer like, no scottish or irish characters over being able to tell viscerally that this character was written by an american who has not been to scotland and has no bearing on what it is like to be raised scottish or irish. like it just frustrates me lol.
