So this week, we pick up where we left off last time with Sinabd declaring that the “Seven Seas Alliance” will solve Heliohapt’s problem. Everyone is of course shocked by Sinbad’s sudden proposal, and Narmes asks what he is talking about with bringing up “alliances” all of the sudden. He then reminds Sinbad that their problem right now, is that they are unable to determine the next successor to the throne through their current discussion, which was the wish of the late king and if they leave that discussion as is, the will have no answer to their problem. He then asks Sinbad what he could possibly do to solve their problem. Sinbad simply replies that he can do it, and it’s actually something that only he can do! He first begins by explaining that both parties are thinking about future of their country and therefore both of their arguments are correct. But even so, they can’t seem to reach a viable solution. He then explains that they are overlooking the main issue at hand which he reveals to be the Reim Empire!
He continues to explain that to Heliohapt, the Reim Empire is their most menacing threat. He repeats what they said earlier about constantly having to consider the Reim Empire’s current temper and adjust their actions accordingly, but then asks them why things ended up that way. He provides an answer, saying that it is because their country has lacked the power necessary to stand up against the Reim Empire. He then asks another rhetorical question. He asks what countries with no power usually do in these situations and answers that they simply assess whether they already possess the power they need within their own country, or if they need to borrow that power from somewhere else. Sinbad then places his hand over his chest and announces that, as someone who has conquered a dungeon, he will personally use his power to stand up to Reim and protect Heliohapt. As everyone stands in shock at this sudden proposal, Sinbad continues on to say that if he were to do this, then there would be no reason to be frightened of the Reim Empire any longer and that way they could be free to…. (he is then suddenly cut off by Queen Patra who tells him to quit screwing with them with all his talk about “alliances” and “power to stand against the Reim Empire”. She says that there’s no way a mere foreign merchant such as himself would ever be able to do something like that. She points out that even if they were to borrow that power temporarily and save their country, the country that Heliohapt would still have to answer to, would only change from the Reim Empire to Sinbad. She then says that an outsider like him should not interfere with their country any longer.
While Queen Patra finishes with her objection to his proposal, Sinbad calmly tells her that she is wrong and that he would not become what she described that he would. He then reiterates that this is an “alliance” and that it is different from being dominated or invaded. He continues to explain that their world is currently overflowing with despicable things such as: poverty, war and discrimination. Everyone is bound to something and there is currently a great number of people in the world who are suffering and cannot even choose their own way of life. He then explains that he is not just someone claiming to have power in order to take control of the future of their country. He then says that he wants to save people in that situation, like Heliohapt. He says that he’s conquered dungeons and has acquired the power of “metal vessels”. He claims that this power that he possesses is a mighty power that could destroy an entire city in one night and this amount of power would be more than enough to stand up to big countries. He goes on to show that he has already obtained alliances with many different countries including: Imuchakk, Sasan and Artemyra. He says that they are small countries, but that they possess quite a bit of power. He says that these countries mutually recognize, cooperate and have promised to join forces with him. He explains that the alliance respects the independence of nation states and their motto is “don’t invade, don’t be invaded.” It’s an international alliance whose creed is only to cooperate with one another and to remain “non-aggressive”. “To maintain balance in the world and to unify the seven seas. That is the Seven Seas Alliance!” He then finishes by saying that Heliohapt could continue on with their self-governance and as long as they were in the alliance, their fellow alliance members would no doubt send help to them if needed.
As this speech seems to be leaving an impression on Narmes, Patra suddenly speaks up, saying that what Sinbad’s proposal is stupid and ridiculous. She says that he cannot simply “decide” to be involved in their national affairs in a place like that and then doubts that someone like him has even formed alliances and has the amount of power that he is claiming to possess. Sinbad says that he understands and as they leave the royal tomb, he announces that he will show them his power. As everyone gathers to watch Sinbad’s display of strength, Ja’far tells him to hold back a little, but Sinbad has already decided to go all out, using all of his power and summons forth his Bararaq Saiqa!
And that’s about all for this chapter! It’s nice to finally be out of that tomb and with the way things are progressing, it seems we might not be in Heliohapt for too much longer… T^T But I still wonder how Sharrkan will join them. I guess we will find out soon enough! Oh and also, there was no karuta card this week, but instead we have some originally sketches of almost all of the SnB volume covers. You can find those on my blog. ^^b
