As if it isn't hard enough to get out of bed when you're reading a book. Imagine if you had that many books right there!

As if it isn't hard enough to get out of bed when you're reading a book. Imagine if you had that many books right there!
Here again with the quarantine readings lol I still have A LOT to post so brace yourselves
This is “The Incredible and Sad Tale of Innocent Eréndira and her Heartless Grandmother “, by Gabriel Garcìa Màrquez. It is a collection of short stories, loosely related (at least the one that gives the title to the book) to One Hundred Years of Solitude.
I never read Garcìa Màrquez before and I didn’t want to go straight to reading his most important works because he feels like an important author, one that I needed to prepare for to truly appreciate, so I read this one before. The stories didn’t particularly strike me as incredible, but they were really useful to grow a little bit accustomed to Garcìa Màrquez incredible and peculiar style of writing.
I was really happy that I made this choice: when (after a couple of weeks) I read One Hundred Years of Solitude I was able to appreciate it a lot more, and I really enjoyed it. I will post about it as soon as I can organise my thoughts on it because it was so deeply and tragically beautiful that I can’t really think about it in a way that isn’t emotional.
I also recently found Love in the Time of Cholera around so I’ll definitely be reading that!
During my social media pause I finally read Dune. It was amazing and I will try and go on with the saga!
You see, I was really surprised when I managed to finish this book... because I have a curse. I can't finish science-fiction books.
I tried very hard amd with many authors, it's not even that I don't like the plot: I find the ideas behind most science fiction extremely interesting. I really couldn't understand it. But now I hope I broke the curse lol. I'll let you all know!
Currently reading: The Stand by Stephen King!
My goal for this summer is to read ALL the books that i bought and never read... I know, kind of ambitious and probably impossible lol. I have a lot of Stephen King books that I bought when I was obsessed with him a couple of years ago, and I'm slowly going through them all.
Today shops in Italy finally re-opened and I got to go to my favourite thrift shop 😍
Bought this baby for 1€, first book I bought since the start of the lockdown lol.
It is "Some day this pain will be useful to you" by Peter Cameron. Has anyone read it? Any thoughts?
