Canon SW Holidays

You’d like to write a holiday themed prompt in the canon universe, but don’t know who celebrates what and where? No problem, we’re here to help with this little Wookiepedia primer:

“Coldtime” - Winter - Gamorr - Winter is the time for the warriors to soften and dedicate themselves to courtship and mating. 

“Cordel Cove Winter Carneval” - Winter- Neftali (Cordel Cove) - Celebrate the beauty of this ice world with swoop race, ice sculptures, and tasty ice-water drinks. 

“Life Day” - Holiday - Kashyyk -  Special Wookie Hoilday, celebration of the many forms of life, time to remember passed family members and young ones continuing to bring new life (Term also used for SW birthdays)

“New Year Fete Week” - New Year - Coruscant - One of Coruscant’s three great holiday, lasting five days. Under Imperial rule mostly known for military parades and executions. 

“Wakemeet” - Winter - Barseg - Children dress up as evil spirits and get treats. Related to more somber winter holidays. 

“Wallarand” - Winter - Garnib - Four day long festival in a temporary ice sculpture city. A time for business and romance alike. 

“Winterfest” - Winter - Dathomir - Younger Nightsisters receive gifts from older ones.

Sniperpilot Winter - Week 3: New Years

Bodhi Rook had spent weeks reading everything he could find about Mexican New Year’s traditions (and fervently hoping the internet wasn’t setting him up to embarrass himself) in preparation of spending the holidays with his boyfriend in Mexico City. 

Yet no cheerful tourist guide could have prepared him for the shock of running into Imperial agents right there in Cassian’s home city, three years after they believed the shadowy war against the secret organization to be won.

Midnight kisses will have to wait as MI6 agent Rook and CISEN agent Andor are once more caught up in a desperate race against time.
