Interesting Reiner/Eren parallel I found

Specifically between chapter 96 and chapter 106...

Here, you have two trios debating whether or not it’s better to buy more time after waiting for two years following the main events (Trost for EMA and Shiganshina for BRA). Eventually, the head of the trio is taking ultimate decision while doing a certain action (shooting for Eren and uprooting trees for Reiner).

The interesting contrast is how one wants to wait a little bit more, while the other needs to act immediately. Reiner certainly didn’t want to provoke the Founder, and Eren had to retrieve Zeke at all costs, since his clock was ticking out. Eren needed to rush so they could buy some time while Reiner wanted to wait in order to retrieve the Founder and rush back to Marley.

One is about not taking risks while the other even intended to do it alone.

It’s funny to see Annie being on the same wavelength than Eren when it comes to stop wasting time. Both have timers running out and can’t allow themselves to waste any second when it comes to get what needs to be done accomplished.

Episode 95 & 96

So probably, these last couple of chapters (aka the Reiner arc) are my favourite. We finally get to know more about the titan trio and I couldn’t be happier. 

Soooo, I’m not writing paragraphs because I’m tired, so straight to the first point : 

- FINALLY someone seems to put the let’s-send-children-to-war thing into question and THANK YOU MAN. Ok, he was dismissed quickly but whatever. The thought was there. 

- Gabi is clever. Probably too clever for her own good. 

- Reiner’s dad? Asshole of the year. Not the best state of mind for Reiner to start the mission. 

- It’s funny because until now I was finding the whole “Reiner is everyone big brother” thing adorable. Now I just want to kill myself. Because he just wants to be like Marcel, he just wants to prove to the others that he can do it and that he deserves the armoured and it’s more than I can take at the moment. The guy put so much pressure on himself and I just want to give him a hug (that seems to happen a lot lately)

- Annie doesn’t take anyone’s shit and I might be fallen in love with her too (FYI my real love is Sasha)

- Bertholdt is so insecure - ohmygod! His titan is 60 metres tall and still doubts he’ll be able to destroy the wall. Bless him. 

- And just because tiny Bertholdt resting in the armoured’s hand brings joy into my life : 

I know we’ll be seeing more of the titan trio in the next chapter (I couldn’t help myself, I had to peek) and seeing them as cadets is going to be sooooo great (or just break my heart even more)
