(I guess when you find a great panel setup that builds hype and anticipation for a battle, you stick with it.)

Chapter 74 closed volume 18. Chapter 102 will close volume 25. If we are looking for possible hints of the future, the battle of Shiganshina continued for another eight painful chapters. We are exactly twelve chapters into the Marley arc, so eight more to finish it off.

If the pattern follows, we’ll stay in Marley next chapter but will get more exposition than action. At some point in the next eight chapters, Reiner and Falco’s fate needs to be revealed. We need Paradis flashbacks to learn how and why the SC got to Marley. We need to uncover Zeke’s zekecrets and the East Sea involvement. We also need an actual battle! 

We’ll be in this arc until October so deep breaths everyone!

Wait if they really did transform, the titans that surround SC could possibly be shifters (hence a lot of logistics)? Doesn't that make it easier for anyone injected with serum to eat any of those titans? Either that, or they are normal humans transformed into titans by Zeke?? Too many questions left unanswered... I'm looking forward to chapter 81

BT either brought or recruited 50-100 people, formed them into a perfect half circle, and “1-2-3-Boom” they all transformed simultaneously. The noise catches Erwin’s attention. He side-eyes as Beasty as he and friends emerge from the smoke.

Except for that nightmare cargo titan, they all appear to be of the mindless. They await his commands. If Erwin the serum recipient eats a mindless titan, it’s pointless. He needs to eat a shifter to regain his human form.

ok so I have a theory: Eren's "coordinate" ability isn't to control titans. after all, the beast titan and the female titan both have similar abilities, so Eren wouldn't be all that special. when Eren punched the titan, other titans attacked it - the same way they attacked all the titan shifters. his ability is not to control titans, but to turn them into shifters. this would be a terrible ability to fall into the hands of one who hates all titans - after all, would he even use it? and now there may be a new titan with intelligence (the titan carrying supplies) - this could be the titan that ate the titan Eren touched. or not. but the fact remains that Eren's new ability didn't work on the giant titan - after all, he didn't touch it.

SO I JUST GOT AROUND TO READING SNK CHAPTER 74. AND WOW. JUST WOW. I WAS SO NOT PREPARED although i totally should have been BUT IM SO EXCITED WE’RE ACTUALLY GETTING PLACES IN THIS SERIES AGAIN! IM SO HAPPY I STUCK WITH IT AND SUFFERED THROUGH THE BORING POLITICS

One thing I didn't catch up to in the chapter was the sudden appearance of the Titans. I do realize MT transformed them all but where exactly did it happen? Outside Wall Maria, right? Also which hole did Eren seal?The one broken by Bertolt or Reiner?

Here’s a quick map. MT was in the land between Wall Maria and Wall Rose. Eren sealed the outer gate - the one originally destroyed by Colossal. MT threw the rock that blocked the inner gate - the one smashed by Reiner.

That leaves the Survey Corps effectively trapped in Shiganshina. We know that MT can climb walls, but thus far mindless titans don’t seem to have that ability.

Ahh - those booming sounds. At first I wanted to believe the noises were the footsteps of the titan horde running towards Shiganshina. They don’t exactly tiptoe, you know. Back in Utgard, Sasha could hear them coming from quite a distance. 

But looking at the images with the smoke rising and the crazy titan postures, they sure do look like fresh transformations. That leads to all sorts of troubling questions, the most prominent being are they volunteers or victims?

The curious thing is that Hange mentioned that the road to Shiganshina was surprisingly devoid of Titans. In fact, they only encountered one titan during their trek. Couldn’t MT have mind-controlled the Titans already inhabiting the region to be his Titan army? Or did he have to use titans he himself created?

With each chapter we end up with more questions than answers.
