He doesn’t jump, exactly, though a soft little sound of surprise does rise up in his throat. It’s unsurprising but no easier that En Dwi doesn’t give him a chance to respond or react in any substantive way. The most he can manage is simply to reach out, fingers brushing over the other’s wrist in passing acknowledgement as he goes. He doesn’t say anything; sometimes, that’s still the better choice.
These days, acknowledgment without violence is almost a good day.
