Oh wow,  Brøderbund really had come far. Before giving us classics like Lode Runner and Carmen Santiago, they had to scrape by with some Apple II arcade knockoffs! (Except maybe for ‘Space Warrior’, which has no immediate info about it.)

I’m late... again. I just haven’t been on the ball lately.

Oh, and I killed it as Mary today. My crying on stage IN FRONT OF MY WHOLE SCHOOL was so on point, that I made other people cry because they felt the hurt that my character did, seeing her son be nailed to a cross. I accomplished my job as an actor and i’m so proud of myself because i’ve never been in a performance before.

STORY TIME (PA STUDENT)

I’ve never done a musical or play in my life. I am in a performing arts class, and have been for 3 years now, but because I was competing in dance I could never do the plays (so I ran the makeup team). I always felt... Left out because all of my PA family was in the musical. I auditioned this year, and my PA teacher (RIP MRS S) passed away a few days after I nailed my audition. We cancelled the play. From there, I ran the Christmas Concert that she used to run, and ended up being an MC because hey, i’m in my 2nd last year of high school and i’m never on stage but i’m very talented in this field. So I did it, and it was the best christmas concert that my school has EVER done. Since PA started this semester and the husband of my teacher is now teaching, I have felt insecure in this class. I felt weak and uncomfortable because I wasn’t getting much recognition or compliments, I just coasted. Then we started singing which is my weakest. The new singing teacher (not her husband) makes me feel so weak and useless that I started to get very timid when singing so I wouldn’t sing loud and my confidence almost completely disappeared. Then we started the passion play, lead by Mr.S, and on the first day of rehearsal, he gave me a line (which is HUGE because there isn’t many! and he has to trust you). Then a few days later at our next rehearsal, he made me play the Virgin Mary, Jesus’ mother. I was shocked. I was so shocked because I have never been recognized for my acting ability, but now it was time to show everyone what I can do. Just the fact that he showed that he believed in me, shot my confidence through the roof, and that day when we had PA class... I walked in with my head high. We started rehearsing a group song and I had one solo part... I waited until it was my part and belted it, in perfect pitch at the perfect time and everyone stood at me shocked at what I did. “Where the hell did that come from?!” Mr.S asked me and I smiled at him looking over at my singing teacher, who is in shock. I just kind of laughed, and since then I have become a main character in this group performance and get to play a crazy character (I even have lines in the opening scene). So yeah.... Though she isn’t here, I know that she is and she’s helping her husband to see the beautiful little ball of talented she created 3 years ago and give me the damn recognition that I deserve.
