"Adder is a very interesting character especially among the other animals that he travels with in the first book. He's sarcastic and antisocial, and many of the animals do not trust him thinking that he will break the oath that prevents the predators from eating the prey. And yet he does some very heroic deeds throughout the series, such as saving Vixen from fox hunters in the first book by biting the leg of the hunt master's horse so that it bucks the human off, and killing some of the main antagonists in later books."
