(Kinda sotr spoiler) I have this idea for a Haymitch Abernathy request, like President Snow's daughter, a slight bit of a troublemaker doesn't really agree with the hunger games all that stuff, sees Haymitch locked in a cage at his victor ball and she decides to free him and they run away to the greenhouse and just have sun like dancing around, playing with flowers ect. I don't know if it's that good but I just thought it would be silly

Growing up in the capital had its perks like having enough food to feed an army. A roof over your head and enough money to buy absolutely anything. Schools with the best and highest educations and being the daughter of President Snow gave you privileged access to anything and anywhere. But it wasn’t as glamorous as some people think.
Schools educate the kids to be snobs and look down on those from the districts. They corrupt and deconstruct their minds to fit their “perfect” system. Almost everyone enjoy the annual ‘game’ every year. Some even throw parties in Celebration of them. But it wasn’t a game at all. It was a cruel and torturous way to the districts that we will always be in control as they take their kids and make them fight to the death until theirs no more than one left standing.
Y/n Snow despised it all. She despised her father the most out of anything. He was cruel calculated and if you’d disagree with him he’d make sure you were never heard from again or regretted it but yet people still praise him and look up to him. Y/n was the only one who stood up to him and the games and for the most part gets away with. Just because he’s a father doesn’t mean he’s all kind and caring or lets things go. No. He may not kill any of you but will torture you until you comply.
She couldn’t count all the times he had sent her to what once was Gauls lab and saw the torture tools all ready for her. Or being put into a silent room that would want you to go insane or watching a tape on repeat. There was one time that she almost sentenced herself to death for good.
One of the days she was deep in Gauls lab and nobody around she found a tape in a box along with a recording player that looked like it had gone through the trenches and hasn’t been touched in years. She snuck into the silent room with the tv and pushed the tape in and pressed play. She was shocked when she saw a girl in a rainbow ruffle dress and a guitar and Lucky Flickerman next to her.
She had seen almost all of the past hungers games from her rebelling against her father all but one the tenth hunger games. Where she overheard her mother and her friends talk about how her father was a mentor in the games. She honestly thought it was a mistake but looking at the tape of the girl singing she had a thought. Could Lucy Gray Barid be the girl that she’s heard her mother argue with her father about?
Her parents held no love or care for each other but there was always this girl that popped up in an argument between them and a few times her mother let the name slip but before she could manage to get the full name out a slap would echo through the halls before two peacekeepers went in and manhandled her mother.
Y/n’s curiosity grew and soon enough she found out the truth. The whole truth that her father so desperately tried to erase it away but if theirs one thing she learnt from the capitol is that you can’t erase the past no matter how hard you try.
She knew everything that her father didn’t want let out about the 10th Anual Hunger Games. When she got around to the recording is when she was caught red handed. Her father’s fury like nothing before but she didn’t cower she stood tall with a loo that said it all ‘I know the truth so are you going to kill me now?’ .
For being a Snow she was full of fire that was ready to burn down everything about the Snow name.
Since that day her father kept a close eye on her peacekeepers at every turn. Her being locked in her room. Bruises and scars that would never fully heal but it all changed once the 50th annual hunger games came around and a boy was picked for being at the right place but the wrong time and was pulled into the games.
She remembered when she was with Effie and she met him. She didn’t say anything just watched their conversation unfold but there was something different about him. Something that held hope. A rebellion essence. Quite and barely noticeable under the strong mask he wore.
Which led her here during one of the many celebration parties for a new game she snuck out and was making her way to the cage where Haymitch Abernathy was being held the boy from the reaping and who was conversing with Effie. She was going to free him. Why you may ask? Because.

"W-what are you doing?" He asked nervously as he watched Snows Daughter mess with lock. She looked at him.
"Do you want out or not?" She scolded before messing with the lock until they heard a click of the latch being unlocked.
She sighed in relief as she opened the door. "Come on."
"Why should I trust you?" Haymitch asked his eyes narrowing at her. She took a breath stepping towards him but before she could speak a shout echoed in the distance.
"Hey! Who's You there!!" A peacekeeper shouted.
"Come on!" Y/n's eyes widened before grabbing Haymitchs hand and running to one of the greenhouses.
They rushed in closing the door tightly. Y/n laughed out of breathe. Her dress fickled and muded. Haymitch equally out of breathe looking at her like she's mad.
"You're not what i thought you were." Haymitch admitted in shock making Y/n Snow look at him.
"Hmm. Thanks?" She said as she sat down on other stone bench in the middle of the green house as she looked at the rose.
"To answer your question from before. I don't agree with what they are doing." She admitted taking her eyes off the rose that had just bloomed to Haymitch. His eyebrows stitched together.
"I know crazy right? President Snows daughter against the Hunger Games. But it's true I've always hated them ever since I was younger." She continued. Haymitch watched her intently. "My father makes us watch them each year.. every time I would stand up to it.. well let's just say he'd make sure I regret it.."
He looked at with almost a sorry look but looked away before she could see it. The music started to play again.
“Do you know how to dance?” She asked as she started to sway her hips to the beat of the music. He looked at her.
“Not the kind that you know.” He replied as his eyes flickered to her from the rose. She hummed a laugh.
“Let me guess..” She put your hand to her chin before pointing it at him. “You know the all too well Country step.” She said in country twang which made Haymitch laugh as they unknowingly walked towards each other.
“Care to venture in something a bit more.. proper?” She then asked with a slightly snobby accent as she held out her hand.
“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you to dance?”’he asked as he played along forgetting for a moment that he had to go into the games tomorrow and that she was Snows daughter.
He took her hand as the song played as they twirled each other around making sure not to laugh too loud or attract attention.
Both forgetting where they were. Just being in the moment together as they shared little bits of their life as well as bit of the plan that the tributes had planned but not enough for her to know to the full extent. She had learned that he has a brother and a lover back home who was the girl he protected during the reaping. Which made her feel a sense of guilt for being in his arms right now as they danced.
A little time later when the music had stopped and the time of the party coming to a close all the peacekeepers helping control the crowd leaving. They snuck back to the cage both with a sour look.
“It’s a shame.” Haymitch said looking at her through the bars she looked at him with eyebrows slightly furrowed. “That we couldn’t meet sooner..”
She smiled sadly. “Perhaps at a party in another life. Share a dance or two..”
“On a little island with the same people no opposites. No games. No sides. No war. Just everyone on the same side… peace.” She replied with a sad smile.
“Maybe the rolls are reversed as well.” She let out a quiet laughed. “Yeah maybe you’re rich and I’m somewhere in between.”
Haymitch looked at her and without another thought he kissed her. Right then and there their the bars between them keeping them separate but not apart. She was shocked but kissed him back. When the kiss broke they knew they had to say goodbye.
“In another life. Right?” She whispered as she stepped away.
“In another life.” Haymitch replied as he stepped back as well.
“I hope to see you again somewhere along the way. But if I don’t. Good luck tomorrow and I hope you win and get to go home to your family and Lenore. I hope everything works out in your favor. I’ll be rooting for you.” She said he gave an appreciative nod before he moved away from the bars.
As she walked back to the party where guess still gathered around less than before but not enough to notice she had gone MIA. Her brother greeted her with a smile before pulling her off towards their friends. She paid attention mindlessly at what Effie’s sister was rambling about. Only one thing on her mind is that she would never forget the night she had with a boy from 12 who she shared a kiss with right before his appending doom.
