This moment was so domestic, so silly! It’s just... them being friends.
It looks as if they were just simple friends who hang out together. It brings me happiness seeing them like this

notes | So figured I’d at least properly type up today’s fic and, of course, that meant a few revisions as I went. This is my last official birthday month fic but obviously I’ll keep writing moving forward, though probably not the next few days because of family things. Thanks for all the positive thoughts and here’s the snippet referenced here.

"Are you sure we should be doing this?" Caitlin sounds less nervous than dubious, and to be fair, Barry can't really blame her: the sight of Cisco Ramon hefting a long handled ax over his shoulder is at once comical and concerning.
"C'mon Caitlin," Cisco answers, bright and too casual, "it's like a tradition."
Barry wants to point to that he's definitely seen a large, rather artificial tree sitting in storage at some point before, but it's been a busy few months and he's pretty sure Cisco is really just trying to get them together for something not related to bad guys and city wide disasters. Considering that, instead of arguing the point, Barry just shoots Caitlin a playful smile and zips forward so that he can nudge her shoulder with eyes, beaming down at her as he echoes, "Yeah Cait, it's a tradition."
She huffs a little, but the puff of air releases around a smile and beneath an exaggerated, long suffering eye roll. She's definitely relenting. Can everyone getting home without needing any stitches be a part of this tradition at least?"
Cisco laughs a little worryingly, but Barry just presses a little closer to her, a grateful sort of jostle that he's sure she reads appropriately, and nods. "Sure can," he assures her, warm and firm and feeling wonderfully buoyant for her agreement.
He watches her head shake fondly for a moment, lingering just a beat before she strides forward and starts a line of commentary on the merits of various trees in the vicinity, leaving Barry to trail contentedly after her, trying not to laugh as Cisco grows more and more exasperated with her enthusiastic search for the perfect tree.
sad that this will be the last time our O.G Trio will get to work on a mission together :((( tho this scene is hilarious cos it’s reminiscent of how Cisco is akin to a kid wanting to tag along to a superhero adventure and while Barry & Caitlin are hesitant, they’re just going along with it to make him happy xD
