Last night’s St Patrick’s Day ☘️ FIRST Stop volunteering was mildly complicated by the fact that, although we were expecting snow and expecting a lot of cold people needing our help (which we got!), The Beast From The East Pt. 2 ended up being slightly more forceful than expected. We were met with quite the blanket of snow at 3am when we closed up and my journey home was pretty nightmareish. Luckily, although it took me over 30 mins to go less than 7 miles because I refused to go above 20mph for fear of spinning out of control and crashing my 11-year-old car, I made it back unscathed and even had time to take some snowy photos before collapsing in a warm bed. ❄️ Of course, now all we’re left with is an icy, wet slush, but I’m thankful that we’ve all survived the two Arctic blasts with only fairly minor disruptions. I’m pretty done with the snow now though.
