This audiobook is good; very good! I love how Kristen Ashley wrote this story. I love Hixon and I love Greta. It was a pleasure to listen to a book about a divorced husband who was not divorced because he was abusive or a cheater.
Complicated was a story that allowed the listener to meet a guy name Hixon Drake, who loved his wife, but was lost and wondering why she divorced him. It allowed the listener to meet a great father and a man trying to navigate through a new relationship after being married for 19 years. Complications centered around Hixon's everyday life, the up and downs, the good and bad, and this is what makes this story excellent. It was about the life that millions go through every day and we rarely notice.
It showed how devastating divorce can be on children and extended family. It showed how awkward it could be to introduce someone new into your family dynamic. It showed that people come with baggage, and that it is necessary to communicate; and sometimes that communicating can be awkward and uncomfortable.
Complicated is what I call a life story; you've got the good, the bad, ugly, and the beautiful. Life, as we all know, is complicated, and the narrators were able to deliver that message with every inflection and tone. Erin Mallon is one of my favorite narrators. Kudos and a great job!
