What brushes do you use to line and color your art?
It makes what you do have a great soft look, while also allowing for great nose detail! :0
In this household we do NOT gatekeep 🫡
Mini tutorial ig?
Lineart: I use my one and only, my dearly beloved Bolígrafo Rainbow brush at around half % the opacity. I used to use it only for crisp lineart but I’ve noticed that a lower opacity really lets you play with the pressure sensitivity and it helps make certain part looks a bit more tridimensional(? Idk I’m a big fan of making the lines a bit thicker whenever they intersect with one another. It sorta gives it some type of shadow illusion
Colors: I like to add some flat colors to help differentiate certain elements of the drawing, here for example I used white for the hand + flower and black for the rest of the bust :3 for simple doodles like this one I like to use as few colors as possible in order to keep thing simple and easy on the eyes of the viewer ^^ usually I paint it with an opacity between 10-20%, but it depends on the bg color
Details: is it really snz art if it doesn’t have blush and highlights? This is my fav part! For the blush, in these type of grayscale doodles black looks a bit more cohesive but I loooove red/pink blush. I use any airbrush with medium opacity for the nose and cheeks (maybe a lil bit on the eyes too if it’s an allergy related scenario) and then I just start playing around with all the different effects/ filters. In this case I added a muted light red color and set that layer as linear burn but sometimes I also use overlay or soft light, depends on what I’m craving that day :p
And ofc highlights! This is a bit tricky, add to little and it blends with the flat colors, add too much and it gets distractive and you lose your point of focus,,,, As much as I love highlights,they can make the final product look too busy so I’ve decided to just add it to certain key points which are: the tip of the nose, the corner of the nostrils and the eyes. If I want to add mess I’ll apply the same technique, pure white with any sharp default brush, making sure to make the droplets look thick >o<
OH! In order to make it look softer sometimes I duplicate the linear layer, add it some Gaussian blur and lower the opacity of that new layer a bit. But I forgot to do that this time ^^;
This is just the current way I’m drawing, it might change in a couple of months but ig that’s the fun of it, right? Trying new techniques/ art programs/filters until you figure out something that you like (like my sweet bolígrafo rainbow <3) I currently use Ibis paint for 80% of my work and something that I like to do is go to Pinterest, download a bunch of qr brushes and try them all at once, you can try doing that even if you use another art program (tho idk how you can download new brushes in other apps,,,)
I hope this was helpful! Sorry if some things don’t make that much sense it’s pretty late for me and lwk I’m falling sleep rn
BONUS:
You want to know another cool thing about Bolígrafo rainbow brush?
a sneezy busty woman with a massive round nose
This is silly idk why I make this
can I smoosh Ellie's big nose? pls
Only if you’re gentle!
I love Ellie!!! She’s so cute. I have a question: is she by nature more of a stifler or does she let them out? What is the default spelling of her sneezes
So happy that you liked her ;w; that means a lot!
And to answer your question: She usually snzs freely cuz stiffling doesnt really works for her. She's tried, but she always ends up making things more messy :p plus it hurts her ears so she mostly avoids it. Tho I can see some exceptions if she's sick and near people since she doesnt want to gross out anyone...
Im not very good at snz spelling but for her I usally go with a mix of an 'e' and 'u' sound. *hHHE'TSHRUUWww!* or something like that. Idk most of the time I just add random letters to make the onomatopoeia pop ^^;
Suggestion for the classic announcments series. "It's coming". Couldn't find it, and this one is an og in my book.
This one is...
Coming soon 😆✨👀 great idea!
Hi, if you’re still taking suggestions for your announcement wavs, what are your thoughts on “my allergies” and various other allergy complaints?
Stuff like:
“My allergies are so intense today”
“The pollen…”
“They’ve been so intense lately”
“The pollen count is so high”
“I swear they get worse every year”
Bonus points if some of the complaints come from a place of truth lol.
Also thank you so much for sharing with us and happy sneezing 🤧
I have been holding on to these as they are wonderful ideas, anon and I just didn't yet get to them.
💚✨ I didn't want to leave you hanging so I decided to reply to let you know ✏️I have these in my ideas list now. They are lovely and many would be great to say during a fit or hitchy hold back.
Thanks for the great ideas when the opportunity strikes to record again!
your "classic announcement" series is a delight, I've listened to them all multiple times. Thank you for making them <3
Thank you! The hitchy talking is my favorite too and they are really great to have as simple go to options when I seem to get the motivation and time to record. I'm thrilled that others enjoy them too!
