thinking about sova's name in his dossier...

You know how Russian naming conventions include patronymics? I wonder why Sova doesn't have one.

I just have like, a lot of guesses. in no particular order

It might just be because Fade didn't bother to include it in the dossier, but that seems unlikely as she exposed Neon's full name. Why would she give Sova different treatment? Furthermore, she makes herself more threatening by having more information, why would she hide the fact that she knows Sova's patronymic?

2. It might be his way of leaving his past behind in order to join Valorant Protocol? That wouldn't make a lot of sense considering a patronymic doesn't really give a lot of clues--or at least, it gives as much clues to his past as his last name. If he was going to get rid of his patronymic for this reason, he might as well have gone all the way and gotten rid of his surname too.

3. Or perhaps he's an expat? That might also explain why he speaks English so fluently? He might have been raised for some time outside of Russia? It could also explain why his dossier refers to him as "Sasha" instead of "Alexander". It's weird for Fade to call him by his diminutive, but if Sasha was his actual legal name, it would make more sense.

4. Does he just not like his dad, so he legally removed his patronymic? There's no evidence to support or refute this, so ¯\_(:/)_/¯

I guess the only family member we see him be close to is his grandma, but we don't have anything to state that he has a bad relationship with his dad, or if his parents are still alive in the first place.

5. This one's just unlikely, but another guess would be that Sova actually hid his full name so well that even Fade couldn't dig it up. I don't think this is it, because why would he put so much effort into only his patronymic and not, you know, his first and last name?

6. He's trans and he forgor when making changes to his legal documents 🙈
