its thankfully not nearly as frequent now but sometimes when i have terrible terrible migraines and any light causes a feeling like something being stabbed through my eyesocket, i have to physically cover my eyes as thoroughly as possible, sometimes for hours. yet having nothing to engage with makes even worse things happen within the sour cauldron of my brain. so i learned to play certain games on my ds by sound. i would have said by sound alone, but the feel of the controls was also a factor. now ive done it truly sound based, as touchscreen controls for a rom remove that tether. and yet i still manages to grind levels without trouble, navigate back to town regularly for healing bc i cant eyeball health bars, and several times have successfully checked in on the two npcs on this route i can rematch, having won three trainer battles literally with my eyes covered. small achievements, perhaps, but fun when things were a lot of hurt.
