Why is all the food in this house slightly moldy T.T

I'm a guest and my host went out of their way to get food I like but /literally everything/ except the lemon was slightly moldy but like not enough for her to care but I can't eat it because it's all I can taste and I want to throw up when I get a bit of bread that tastes moldy T.T "oh it's fine, it's just in the outside/just in this one part"

That is not how mold works ahhhh
