Library displays over the years

Didn’t want to lose them! So so great to have a job that allows me to have so much fun and call it work occasionally. Hurray!

And, why is it that just about any illo looks better on darker paper? A reaction of some sort between light waves in an epic battle for ascendancy or simply the result of accidentally hitting on a long-forgotten formula in a book of alchemy disguised as a joke book for kids?  Maybe it’s just how you hold your head while scratching with the Prismacolors. The best pencil colors!

Block Printing Class #1

A fun afternoon with a few great people. Three more converts to block printing. I was amazed at how they took to it, but the whole process is sort of exciting on a small scale.

We are built to make things.

More than that, we each have the tools to consider problems and solve them. I don’t care if the problem is a blank page in a sketchbook, a tricky ledger sheet, a line of uncooperative code or a human rescources maelstrom. Creativity is in every human’s tool box because it’s how we solve problems. 

I don’t want to hear anyone say that they ‘aren’t creative’ or they ‘don’t have a creative bone in their body,' because that would be a lie. 

And we don’t like liars, do we?

... but, if you find yourself upset about such a thing, you can put the world right just a little bit by making a block print!

Also I agreed to babysit both Skylar and my brother for about four or five days at the end of April because my mom, stepdad, other sister, and other sister’s boyfriend are going to a concert. I’m just now realizing that I agreed to babysit a four-month old and my autistic brother by myself after 1.) not having babysat a baby that small since Ben, and 2.) completely freaking out every time Skylar so much as hiccups.
