So I was curious about the opportunity mars rover since it’s been a while since I’ve heard anything after it going into hibernation mode due to a dust storm last earth summer. And I am saddened that it still hasn’t responded.
It may yet awaken again and it just needs a good breeze to clear its solar panels of dust. But this may be the end of everyone favorite rover that could.
It has been functioning for 15 years. It’s original mission was 90 days. That’s a 6000% longer lifespan than planned for. When humans finally do colonize Mars. Opportunity will be a shrine for all. Bringing longevity and perseverance to all. And by god, it deserves it.
