Tell me where you’d touch me if you were here with me right now 🧼💦
I have made new soap! :D
it appears that I underestimated how much I needed by a little bit, because I was expecting one more hexagon (total of 12) and half another pumpkin. I'd even given myself about 10% extra from my estimation, which I'd gotten by filling the molds with water and weighing them, but I guess I need to pad it more than that. Maybe +15% next time. And also neater top scrapings, that might help.
I also definitely overestimated how much I needed for the white roses lol. That's what the mostly white bottom left hexagon is mostly made of, leftovers from them. They're scented differently than the rest of the soap, so I didn't want to mix it back into the other white. (Jasmine with green spots, and Osmanthus with orange. Everything else is Fresh Cut Roses.)
I also ended up with a bit extra in the orange/pink roses, and that's the bottom right hexagon. The other non-green hexagon is from all the scrapings at the end, and they were starting to harden a bit since they had more access to air in the color pots while I worked on the next sets. The amount I sectioned off for the white pumpkin was spot on though.
I also apparently forgot how the thickening tends to go, lol. It stayed very liquidy for a long time, several minutes of blending, and I decided to go ahead and pour the letters in case it suddenly seized. When I turned back to the pot after, it was all a soft gel. It stayed that texture for most of the rest of the time I was working with it, only the scrapings drying like I mentioned
although actually I think you can see variances in thickness in how cleanly I scraped the tops, come to think. You can kinda tell what order I did them in.
