Artifice Age: Origins

Opening the creaky door to the tavern/Inn, a hooded man walks through the door with a aura of confidence. He looks at the wanted poster describing a man, a thief known as 'The Artifice.' He takes a good look a the  poster and whips off some dust off it. "Hey there handsome." he says very soft as he was referring the sketch to himself.

Making a seat at one of the tables in the front, he began to observe the folk in the tavern and saw a girl that caught his eyes..

"Something on your mind, Sister?"

"What is that? Are there bandages under your shirt?"

Fenris quickly tugged the hem of his shirt further down. Damn, he thought he'd covered it enough. The last thing he wanted was for Hawke to worry about him. This wasn't the worst injury he'd ever had before, after all. "It's nothing, Hawke."

"You can lay down in my bed if you need to."

"Just give me a few minutes to catch my breath," Even everyday tasks were beginning to wear down on the aging king. Yet old age wasn’t his killer. The taint that still lay within his blood was more to blame than anything. The nightmares, the lack of movement from the pain. His body was ever so slowly beginning to shut down.

'Hush'

"I failed."

The words slipped from his lips. No life nor colour in his tone as the blonde lay upon the bed, his body covered as sounds of sniffling could he heard.

"I failed them all…”

"How are we getting out of this?"

"It was your idea to come here in the first place," Fenris grumbled, keeping his back against the stone wall. He slowly straightened up, peering over the edge of the wall. In the chamber in front of them lay a gigantic dragon. Thankfully, it was fast asleep. But Fenris had a funny feeling any movement in that direction would awaken it. With just the two of them here, the elf didn't particularly want to take the monstrous thing on.
