What if...

Cass fell in love with a woman back in Orlais, maybe a girl who sells flowers at the markets. And this girl would always smile at her when she walked by, and one time Cass stops to look at the flowers and the girl starts talking to her about the flower Cass has picked up. It is a flower known for its hardiness and endurance. Cassandra buys the flower and keeps it in her bed chambers. The flower survives for weeks in just a vase of water. As it slowly wilts and dies, Cassandra keeps every petal that falls off. She puts them in a small leather pouch, and when she leaves Orlais, she takes the pouch of flower petals with her.

During the events of DA:I, you are travelling along a barren, dusty road when suddenly Cassandra stops. She inhales deeply. She looks around and spots a group of flowers growing from the dry, cracked earth. She goes over to the flowers, stoops down and it seems she will pick one, but she doesn't. Instead she leans in and smells the flowers, runs a finger along the petals. She closes her eyes, her hand resting over a small leather pouch hanging from her sword belt.

When she returns to the road, you look at her, but you don't say anything. She briefly makes eye contact with you. Her eyes glisten, watery, as if she had been holding back tears.
