Over the last couple weeks I’ve found myself prioritizing rest in ways that I haven’t in quite some time. The difference in the other areas of my life has been profound, and it’s so easy to lie to ourselves thinking that filling our schedules or pushing ourselves to the limit will lead to more productivity. A few of us took a last minute drive out into the mountains tonight and although the weather wasn’t ideal, the visibility was limited, and spring isn’t as far along as I might like, I was reminded of just how grateful I am to be able to escape to places like that. For some of us it’s a place, and for others it might be the community we’re in, relationships we have, or all of the above, but we all have things we take for granted. Stuff we can be thankful for even on the days were it all seems less than perfect. This photo represents a couple things for me right now. 1) The current snow situation happening here which is a stark and unfortunate contrast to Hawaii, and 2) A desire to continue to declutter and reduce the noise that surrounds the everyday moments of our lives.
