Im in love with this project! Soccket is a clever "go to basics" idea and it could actually change so many lives
Looking to solve real world problems with a fun approach, New York-based entrepreneur Jessica O. Matthews conceptualized a soccer ball, The Soccket, that has the capabilities to harness energy from play to light up a connected LED lamp. Building a company, Uncharted Play, that seeks to offer products of social invention inspired by outdoor activities, Matthews and her team have since released the The Pulse in addition to The Soccket, which adopts a similar energy-fueled concept, but in the form of jump ropes.

Episode 11: The New American Dream is Alive
The next stop is New York City, where they meet Jess Matthews, the inventor of the Soccket Ball, a soccer ball that charges electricity and has been championed by Bill Clinton. They take the ball through the city, playing through the streets of the Big Apple, charging up the ball. After kicking through the entire city, they retire for the night in the house in which they are squatting, and use the power of the Soccket to light up the New York night sky.
