A few weeks ago, the Social Seeder team went to The Next Web 2015 to gain insights and meet new, inspiring people. Besides that, we wanted to let the world know what ambassadorship could mean for organizations. We learned a lot of new things but most important, we met an enormous amount of people who were interested in our story about the online activation of ambassadors. We always believed in our online ambassador platform –duh!– but as days went by, our mailboxes got fuller and fuller with requests from Dutch companies to meet and learn more about Social Seeder and how to implement the platform in their business.
In 2013, Social Seeder started with a focus on three main functions:
Facilitate easy sharing on social media
Amplify the reach on social media
Measure the impact of the amplification
Two years later, we’re still working our butts off to make sure that the process of asking your coworkers or clients to share your content on their social media channels is an easy and smooth process.
By making it as easy as possible to share the company’s content, we really see that ambassadors are more likely to share content beyond a single shot. An analysis of all the past campaigns on Social Seeder learns that an average ambassador shares the offered content on two social networks instead of just one.
Lastly, we’re working on a daily basis to make the insights as accurate and relevant as possible. When someone shares your content, you should know who shared it, when and on which networks.
That’s not rocket science; it’s common sense.
But when we started the platform, we hadn’t seen an online platform that provided this type of insights. And we didn’t stop there. We wanted to know the performance of each ambassador. That’s why we came up with a unique hit counter and reach counter per ambassador, which provides information on the social media influence of each of your ambassadors.
Since the platform went live, we managed to bring in quite some key accounts on a relatively short notice. We’ve been working with all kinds of clients: big banks, political parties, sport brands, agencies, etc. And we even partnered up with organizations in the USA. But we never had the feeling that we were really penetrating new international markets. Up until now!
We’re glad to announce that Social Seeder is breaking out of its Belgian cage and setting its first international steps. Last week, we visited 8 new clients and partners in The Netherlands, which all were very interested to get their hands on the platform and we already have been receiving new requests from potential, interested organizations.
We hope that we can continue to grow (internationally) and we are excited to keep investing in our main focus: facilitate, amplify and measure the impact of sharing through ambassadors.
Check out the short recap video below if you want to see how we experienced our business trip to Amsterdam.
We’d also want to thank the organizations that we visited, to welcome us in such generous ways and to have trust in the power of online ambassadors! We hope to see you again (very) soon!

We analyzed all the 652 Social Seeder campaigns up until now and are glad to announce the great results! More than 50 companies have been using Social Seeder for a while now and their efforts are truly paying off. The power of the ambassador is the next step in content marketing. Content is king but amplification is key!
In total 22.170 ambassadors engaged with their favorite company and amplified the brand's content on an average of 2 (social) media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google +, Pinterest and/or e-mail). The companies using Social Seeder obtained a total coverage of 4.860.580 impressions which resulted in 241.084 unique hits on their landing pages, video's, blogposts, etc.
Click-Through Rates
According to the data it's obvious that ambassador seeding links outperform on click-through rates. A link shared on social media by a company's ambassador has an average click-through rate of 5%. A knock out of the park compared to banner advertisements (0,1% CTR), Facebook Ads (2,5% CTR) and even links in Mailchimp newsletters (3,5%). A link shared by a friend is more trustworthy than any other link thus obtains more reach and gets clicked a lot more.
Underestimating your ambassador's reach
Social media is a matter of influencers and the various social channels really made every single one of us an influencing power. The analysis showed that a person who shares a link on his or her social media has an average reach of around 220 people that actually see the company's content, of which 10 friends clicked through to the company's landing page, video, blogpost, ... A brand could, theoretically, reach all the eyes on the planet with the help of 'only' 33 million ambassadors. Cristiano Ronaldo could accomplish this with a third of his Facebook fans.
Never underestimate the power of your ambassador again!
