Weddings

I’ve never been the little girl to plan her dream wedding.  I don’t care what flowers I’ll get.  I don’t have some dream church.  I'm not going to invite people based on social expectations.  I plan on getting married once.  I’m in no rush to do so.  When I find that person, I wont have to ask myself if it’s right or any bullshit.  I’ll feel it.  That's all I want. I want an outdoor celebration of me finally finding someone worth spending all of my time with.  Because that’s the most valuable thing to me.  You know what, my dress isn’t going to be pure white.  My great aunt wont be in attendance.  It’ll be the people I care about, joining me in fun ass party celebrating this beautiful thing.  Its not going to be largely romantic.  It’ll be fun, different and bad ass.  Because that’s the life I’ve lead, and whoever I’m spending my life with will be too.  Shouldn’t the most important day in my life, (I’m saying this because I’m only going to get married ONCE) reflect who I am as a person?  I’m not going into debt and spending all this hard earned money on what is the traditional view on marriage.  Because I simply don’t care about the wedding.  I care about the marriage.  So it’s gonna be cheap, theres gonna be booze and a bounce house and who needs a DJ when the BRIDE has been the biggest music nerd her whole life?  Karaoke and dancing.  Guests with individual talent contributing to the celebration.  Maybe that’s not what is expected, but I’m not here to follow societies standards.  I’ve been rocking the boat and doing things my way to suddenly bow down to this bullshit.  Rant over.  Gonna have the best wedding.

So arrows and fairy tales said something about being single in your 20s and id really like to add to it cos it really touched me. To see her and others with comments in the same situation as me l always thought i was different or odd. I just turned 20 ans have never had a bf,never been on a date never been kissed never even had someone interested in me. Nor do I even have guy friends. And I’ve told myself during school its because your so tall (im 6'1) but theirs always that voice in the back of mu head telling me its because theirs something wrong with me. I’m too weird. Too ugly too anything but gf material. Society and my friends have always said don’t be defined by a man.. and this angers me because I’ve never seen myself that way… when i say I want a bf I’m not asking for the next bloke who walks down the street just for the sake of having a relationship ..i want that companionship with someone else, that feeling of being loved by someone else and having someone who looks out for u. And i am very confident in who i am, i know who I am and who i want to be, I’ve traveled america by myself i can go to a movie or eat food alone and it doesn't bother me but that doesn't mean i still can’t want that companionship. If i asked every person who told me that and said why don't u break up with your husband wife gf bf if your so sure in being loved by yourself, they would calk u crazy because theirs something about it you wouldn't give up so stop telling me to not want it. And i know i don't need a relationship to be happy because hell on for 20 years I’ve had the best time. But its so nice to know that i am not alone in being single in my 20s and i don't want to rush it i want to enjoy my time.

I'm not an outgoing type person i don't like hiking camping the beach (crazy for an Australian i know) don't like adventures such as rock climbing or canoeing. I prefer to read and watch tv shows or see friends that makes me genuinely happy but for guys that’s not always the case. :/

People worry about jobs, and what people in the world will think of what they do, but here’s the thing - none of that shit matters. When my mother died, I didn’t care what her job was or if she made a lot of money, the only thing I could think about was all the things I wouldn’t get to share with her. I wouldn’t get to laugh with her, she wouldn’t be there to help me study for my exams, or talk me through a heartache. The experiences that you share with the people you care about is the only thing worth working for. The only thing that, in the end, will matter. You won’t be on your deathbed remembering how you excelled in this or that company, or what grades you got, you’ll think of your loved ones. You’ll think of all the things you shared and mourn all the things you won’t be able to. So don’t bother worrying about societies expectations for you, live freely and love as often as you can.
