The knock at your door came exactly at 5pm, as promised.  You ran to open it and saw Bucky standing there in a pair of dark jeans, red henley and thick jacket.

“Buck you look incredible” you said to him.

“Well, it’s only fair when I’m with the most beautiful girl in the world” he replied.  “Now let’s get going, we have a drive ahead of us”

He hadn’t told you where you were going just to dress warm and comfortable because you were going to be on his bike for a while to get there.

He kissed your forehead and then fastened a helmet on your head.  “You let me do this every time.”

“Well, would you rather I get injured if we got in an accident?” you asked, innocently

“Of course not, but you could do this yourself you know.”

“You don’t want to do it for me?” you enquired, a smirk on your face that he couldn’t see.

“I will do this for you every day, in every lifetime, in every universe.  I just know how stubborn and independent you can be and I didn’t want you to think that I thought you weren’t capable of…”

You interrupted him with a kiss, as best you could with your helmet on.  “I love you so much Buck, I will never complain about you doing this for me. Ever!”

“Oh man, this shift feels like it’s never going to end.”  Are we still going for drinks afterwards?” you asked, wanting to just let your hair down and relax after a shift from hell.

“Yeah, we were thinking of that new bar around the corner – I think it’s called Night Shift.” Mateo let you know.

“Great, I have the next 3 days off so I’m going to drink myself into oblivion” you all laughed as everyone agreed with you.

Shift is over and you, Donnie, Mateo and Noelle were walking towards the bar.  The others had got caught up in a last-minute trauma so they were going to meet you there soon.

Grabbing a booth big enough to allow for everyone, you headed to the bar to get the first round for the 4 of you.  Margaritas for you and Noelle, while Donnie & Mateo opted for a simple scotch on the rocks each. 

Before long, everyone else had arrived, the bar was pumping out amazing tunes and a few of the crew were on the dancefloor.  Robby had gone to get some drinks and on his way back had been waylaid by a drunk woman.  You watched, a little jealous as she touched his chest, she was beautiful in a way you would never be.

Robby put the drinks on your table and got pulled back onto the dancefloor by the gorgeous drunk woman and you sighed into your margarita.  You’d already had way too many but now that Robby was dancing with this woman, and not beside you talking, you couldn’t care less.

Without warning, Dana grabbed your arm and whispered in your ear.  Your eyes widened, then narrowed and you nodded, standing and heading towards the dancefloor.

Your target came into view, Robby looked totally out of his element, the woman from earlier, clearly very drunk, was all over him and he didn’t know what to do.

You slid up behind him, wrapped your arms around his waist and whipped him around so he was facing you.  The drunk woman tried to turn him back around to her but your grip was vice like and not letting go.

Eventually she gave up, leading to a relieved look on Robby’s face.  “Thank you so much, I wasn’t sure how I was going to extricate myself from that mess.”

“I didn’t do anything.  A few of the guys noticed and they just said get up there and make some trouble. So here I am, trouble with a capital T”

Robby looked directly in your eyes.  “You’re drunk, but you’re the only trouble I need.”

As a 4th year resident, you’d seen your fair share of sexual harassment but since you had transferred to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre at the start of your 4th year, the instances of anything like that had dropped to zero.  Literally zero, and it was all thanks to your amazing attendings.

2 older guys – Robby on day shift and Jack on night shift.  They ran very tight ships and knew virtually everything that was going on.  Which is why you were surprised when you almost walked into the following conversation between Jack and one of the residents from General Surgery who had come down to the ED for a consult.

Jack: I actually watch her back and not her backside.  You better watch how you talk about my residents, Junior

General Surgery Resident: This isn’t the first time I’ve been down here Dr Abbott, I’ve seen things, and I could make things really hard for her if I wanted to.

Jack:  Are you threatening her, or me? I warn you, I’d think very carefully about what comes out of your mouth next.

GSR: Oh.. I.. Uh..

Jack: Yeah, I thought so Junior.  She could run rings around you in every way, so let’s give her the respect she deserves, otherwise your boss will hear about this and that’s not a threat, it’s a promise.

GSR: Umm, ok Dr Abbott.  I’m sorry, I overheard some others talking and I didn’t think before I spoke.

Jack: I’m not the one you should be apologizing to Junior.

You took this opportunity to walk around the corner to see Jack’s raised eyebrow and gaze at the Surgery Resident.

You: Did I interrupt something?

Jack just laughed and walked off, leaving you with a stuttering Surgical resident in front of you.

The music in the club was loud, the bass thudding through your body as you swayed with the crowd on the dancefloor.  Nat and Wanda were with you, the rest of the team were sitting, drinking and watching.

As you were getting into the music you felt a hard body move n behind you, hands went to your hips and moved you in time with him.  A slow smile filtered across your face as you anticipated who it was and put your hands on his.

You closed your eyes and rested your head back, feeling the thump of the music through his chest.

After a few minutes, the song changed and you turned to see a stranger, and not the person you thought it would be.  He smiled drunkenly at you and moved towards you, lips pursed as if he was about to kiss you.

Before you could even respond the stranger was yanked away from you and fell over, his balance not aided by his blood alcohol percentage.

“So, it looked like you were enjoying that?” Steve said.

“Meh, I’ve had bigger thrills leaning against my dryer” you responded, winking. “But maybe you can change that”

“You know I’m not a dancer sweetheart, but for you I’d give it a try.”

“Then let’s do this Rogers!” and with that you linked your hands at the back of his neck, while his hands landed on your hips, erasing the feel of the stranger as he pulled you closer to him.

Before long you were both lost in the music and each other.

The room was warm, dark and lifeless, except for you and Spencer.  You’d been stuck here for almost 3 days already, hoping the team would find you before it was too late.

Not knowing what plans the unsub has for you, all you can do is exist and try and work out patterns to his movements and maybe see a way to break out of this prison he was holding you in.

When you were first captured you had spent all your time shouting and banging on the door and the walls, to no avail.  Spencer had warned you at one point “Every sound you make is making this worse, for both of us” he said.

“I know but what if someone hears, I can take a beating from him, it hurts but he’s not particularly strong.  I just don’t want him beating on you any more.”

“I can take it” Spencer replied.  “But let’s not give him the ammunition to escalate this to the next step before…” he didn’t finish the sentence.  He didn’t have to.

You had learnt not to make a sound.  You were however, losing track of time and the lack of food and water was beginning to play with your mind.

“Spence” you whispered, hoping the unsub wouldn’t hear you. “If we don’t get out of this..”

“Don’t even suggest that” he interrupted you. “The team will find us.  I have complete faith in them.  We will not be this guy’s next victims.”

“I know, but just in case.. I have enjoyed working with you and listening to your rambles, your brain is amazing.” 

You stopped talking as you heard the door open, hoping it was your team but it wasn’t. 

And for the first time in his life, Spencer was wrong.

A/N: This is my last submission for this challenge, I've had a blast and learnt lots of new skills in keeping the stories short but interesting. thank you to @societyfolklore and @soelstress for coming up with this and I look forward to the next one

You’d been spending more time at the Tower than at your place lately, all things considered.  And as such, you’d become good friends with some of Steve’s fellow Avengers and even some of the Shield team.

Tonight you’d told Steve to stay put and you’d grab the snacks for your own private movie night.  You were rummaging around in the kitchen cupboards and fridge to gather all the things you both needed for a quiet night in, when you realised Bucky was standing behind you, leaning against the kitchen counter just watching.

“You going to shop us out of all our food?” he laughed.

“No, I’m almost done, but you know Steve has the biggest appetite at the best of times, it’s even worse when…” you stopped yourself before you said anything too embarrassing.

“When what, sweetheart?” you could see the smirk on Bucky’s face that told you he knew exactly what you were about to say.

“Well, when we watch movies of course, what did you think I was going to say?” and with that you swept out of the kitchen, tray loaded with snacks, heading back to Steve’s room.

Opening the door, you set the tray down on one of the bedside tables and turned toward where you had left Steve on the bed.  He wasn’t there which confused you, then you heard water running in the attached bathroom.

When he stepped out he saw you standing with your hands on your hips, tapping your foot.  “I said behave… not that I expected you to listen.”

“I’m sorry sweetheart” Steve apologised. “I really needed to use the bathroom and I thought I could be done and back in the handcuffs before you got back and you’d be none the wiser.”

“Sweetheart, you need to stay quiet, otherwise everyone will hear you, and they’ll know what we’re doing” Steve admonished you, before moving his mouth down to the sensitive spot on your neck.

“But Steve…” you breathed. “I can’t help it.”

“Just pretend you’re in your library” he suggested.

“Not… Working… Steve…” you sighed before moaning louder than you probably ever had in your life.

Later you and Steve headed to the kitchen to get some post ‘workout’ snacks and saw Nat and Bucky sitting on the couch talking.

You were a little worried that they might have heard something so you stuck close to Steve as you both put together some food and drinks.

Sitting at the kitchen table, talking quietly so you didn’t disturb Bucky and Nat, next thing you know Nat is standing beside you.

“So, someone enjoyed themselves earlier.” She chuckled.

Your cheeks went red, not pink, with embarrassment and put your head on Steve’s shoulder so you didn’t have to look at her.

“Well, Sweetheart.  I guess you’re not as quiet as you think.”

You and the crew of the Ares were all sitting around the crew quarters discussing the latest development with Mark Watney and whether you would return to go get him or continue on home to Earth.

You could tell Commander Lewis was trying hard not to sway any of you one way or the other but having been in such close quarters for so long, you all knew what she wanted to do. 

Thankfully, the decision was unanimous.  You were going to ricochet back towards Mars and work out a plan to bring Mark home.

Commander Lewis left to let NASA know what you had all decided to do and you, Beth and Chris were talking about how crazy this idea was.

“I am not saying I don’t want to do this, because I do” you began.  “But everyone on Earth is going to think we’re crazy.”

“Let them think that.  Let them say we’re crazy, what do they know?  The majority of them have never been in this position.” Chris said.

“Yeah” Beth countered.  “We’re going to do this, we’re going to get him and bring him home.  Nothing’s gonna stop us.”

Beth walked away and you looked at Chris.  “You are crazy.”

“Yeah, crazy for you” he replied.

“So corny” you laughed and grabbed his hand, dragging him towards your bunk room.
