So here’s the creature I was working on! It has reached its destination and has been warmly received by the shy, wildly talented and very kind @cherry-toxic 🍒☣️

It’s a OOAK sock-goblin! Hand sewn and made from mostly remnants and reused materials.

The body is made of two new socks, one solid and one stripped. The hair is yarn. The body is stuffed with poly-fill stuffing and two little bean bags of poly-pellets to help with sitting up right. The hat is green felted wool trimmed with black cotton bias-tape. The face is felt with four buttons to give the eyes pupils and personality. The top is the cuff of a sock. The trousers are made from cotton quilting fabric and has little red felt patches, grey grosgrain ribbon belt loops and a red star printed ribbon belt. The boots are felt. I’m particularly fond of its little tail, also made from a piece of the stripped sock and some yarn.

My favorite detail is the little necklace made from beads that were salvaged from broken necklaces. It gives this goblin a kind of coastal vibe. Maybe it raids fisherman’s nets for treats? I imagine it jigs very well and likes sleeping in piles of dirty laundry. Oh, and loves star gazing for sure!

I had so much fun making this little goblin! You can tell I have watched (and rewatched) lots of Jim Henson productions.

had one of those days where i could not get out of bed. this guy stuck by me the entire time and kept sticking his nose in my face to cheer me up. i cant imagine life without him. hes a very very very good dog

Lance: Well… we had a looong night and-

Keith: Lance got drunk and called himself the “Sock Goblin“ and wouldn’t give them back so I took a pair from him.

Lance: … I was trying to be cute.

Keith: I’m just being honest. I want my socks back.

Lance: No way! These are so soft!

Keith: Maybe if you did your laundry right your socks wouldn’t feel like cardboard.
