             quite possibly, this must have been one of the, if not the most, cheesiest things xander had done in his lifetime. not that there was anything wrong with taking your date to a carnival that had rolled into the city, but he had to admit ; it was a little cheesy & undoubtedly they both must’ve been aware of that. the amount of movies & books there were with the first date taking place in a carnival, was getting quite ridiculous. either way, it was better than a date in another art gallery, considering that a carnival would give them a proper chance to do something & maybe even learn things from each other better. so he wasn’t opposed to it, especially since they’d just entered the goddamn carnival & bought some tickets. the sun was just starting to set, different booths turning on their fairy lights already & xander found his hand dropping down to his date’s lower back to keep him close ( in his defense, there were a lot of people there! ). ❝ so.. where shall we go first? ❞

             saying his life was a mess at the moment, was nearly an understatement. he’d only came back from the damned war the day before & he already had a lot on his plate, what with sleep not being an option anymore, his family wanting to spend time with him now that he was back & his girlfriend clinging to his feet, not to mention phoenix. the first two were the least of his worries, phoenix being the one whom had occupied his thoughts almost completely. or to be more precise, phoenix & his letter. the said letter had been on his mind & in his pocket ever since he’d first received it when he’d been thousand miles away from home, putting his life at risk for those whom he loved. yet he hadn’t written back but it was least to say that the soldier had had a lot of time to think everything through, think about the letter & about how he felt. & that’s why he was there, standing behind his best friend’s door. he hadn’t seen phoenix at the railway platform when he’d came back & everyone had been celebrating the arrival of the soldiers, so this was what he’d been left to do. he raised his hand & knocked on the door firmly, the crumpled letter burning a hole in his pockets.

          it’s half past eleven & benji can say he’s well exhausted. it’s been a long day & he’s occupied reading a new article of his latest work in the back of the limousine but he’s more so focused on going home to two alluring sights. surely it’s well surprising that axel bother to put up with his ever so busy schedule though it’s just another thing to be eternally grateful for at the end of a long day. a hand tousles through thick locks before he’s reaching for his phone to send a quick little message that he’s almost home. benji hums a gentle lull as the mantra of the tune rumbles through a thick chest covered by the delicate fabric of the day, or “ so he typically calls “ gucci. though some days benji would rather find himself coddled in bed with his boy, he can admit the wardrobe portion of the latter in his career is something he’d never get tired of — & maybe a little bit of spoiling now & again with a mass paycheck; something about laying a credit card down is almost as euphoric as the bedroom scene he never forgets. with a slam of a car door & a rumble of keys the man is inside only to remove his jacket with ease, folding it along his forearm as long legs stride to the other rooms for his love. “ m’ home. ” he chants out only to finally find axel, reaching to cup the boy’s face while lips press softly to his. “ how was your day t’day ?? good ?? missed you plenty. ” he simply inquires as he properly sits down, gently patting a hand against his lap for the other to come his way.
