Been absent because have just not felt up for anything, really. Been mostly getting stuff sorted for trash or donations, re-immersing myself into beading, and digging into State of Decay 2 again (now that the achievements for it are acknowledging again).
Today was fun tho- picture being out of gas and need to fix yer wheels because you ran over too many zombies and it gummed up your engine's intake, so you pull into a gas station to grab a quick can of gas and maybe rummage to find a repair kit. . . . and behind you is the outpost where some hostiles have camped out. Mind you the hostiles have hijacked all your supplies. . . and across the street are two juggernauts, and you got a pocket full of firecrackers.
Climb the to roof of the station; toss firecrackers, and watch the fun.
Hostiles suddenly have 2 juggernauts and 2 people sniping them because they can't come out to fire back
. . .and then a full horde with a bloater (explodes into a poison gas cloud) and a screamer (calls every zombie in the neighborhood in) toodle into the fray. . . the horde did the work for me XD
I am actually looking forward to State of Decay 3 because of shit like this even tho its supposed to be harder and scarier than 2.
I don't talk about State of Decay much, but it's my favorite open world zombie game. With 3 on the horizon and the playtest that was just announced, I wanted to do this.
Things I want in SoD3:
More customization in general; the characters, your bases, weapons, vehicles, and surroundings.
More importance to losing a member via permadeath. In SoD2 you usually just mourn the skills that person had and the group has a grief debuff for a bit, but that's it. I want it to really effect the group.
Better combat. It's just so simple and if it could even be half as good as TLOU2 combat, I'd be satisfied.
More variety in meeting other survivors or groups. Hell, more variety with characters in general; romances, besties, familial or enemy relationships.
You survive by a day by day system and I want that to be emphasized more. Have more things change over time, the world and characters.
BE ABLE TO HAVE MORE FOLLOWERS, I BEG. I'm so tired of having massive groups and only being able to attack raiders or plague hearts with only one companion. Let me bring 2 or 3 or even a whole siege!
Dynamic weather and seasons. Along with me asking for things to change over time, let there be spring, summer, fall and have us struggle in winter. General stuff like rain, fog, heat waves, snow etc. And with the different maps have different natural disasters; a hurricane in seaside maps, a tornado in great plain maps, droughts in a desert maps, floods in valley maps, etc.
More abilities not related to combat or scavenging like fishing,
More freedom with bases, let us choose us to base WHEREEVER and no limits for facilities except for resources and space.
More dynamic injuries or sicknesses aside from the plague. Permanent consequences are nothing new in these games in regards to losing people, so let some injuries have permanent consequences. Like losing a finger or whole limbs. Stayed in the toxic gas too long? Your character is blind now, etc.
If there's anything else I missed, feel free to add to this list!
Decided to restart my entire community in State of Decay 2 because I wasn't really vibing with a vast majority of people in it. I did however send one to my Legacy Pool because he was the only I liked in it and brought him in for the new community. That being Reed (the one on the left). Might just make the community OCs at this point though?? I dunno since I did have ideas for OCs in Project Zomboid but I die immediately upon spawning in in that game, even when I'm careful as hell. But anyway! Lemme introduce these 3 and then list their traits. From left to right is Reed Morrison, Emil "Morrow" Maurer and Jarlo McCabe.
Reed Morrison; - Does Yoga - Cosplayer - Unbreakable - Veteran Gambler Emil "Morrow" Maurer; - Backwoods Upbringing - Majored in Chemistry - Good Arm
Jarlo McCabe - Delivery Driver - Blood Plague Survivor
Reed's Veteran Gambler trait came to be because when I started the new game, he was a follower and then it decided to give him the 4th trait since the other 3 he came with from before. Just kinda lucky it wasn't a super bad trait but now I can't think of characterizations on why he'd be all of those. Anyway, I can always just come up with things about them as I play since I did recruit a new person to the group recently after a mission and yeah.
New vinyl for my xbox and second controller
Started playing State of Decay and it's a lot creepier than its sequel so far. It's also more confusing in the sense that I can't really tell what my current list of objectives are? It's pretty vague.
Quick tip for State of Decay 2 Heartland players! Took down a Blood Plague Juggernaut in seconds with this easy, ammo-saving method. No more wasting resources on these tanks! Perfect for survival runs and base defense.
If you're struggling with plague juggs or just want faster clears in Heartland, this strategy is a game-changer.
