insane to me how in the first five seasons, we never see Michael interact with Dean in the same way that Lucifer interacts with Sam. In fact, Michael and Dean barely interact at all.

Meanwhile, Lucifer’s predation of Sam is eerily romantic and sensual. It’s so deeply intimate, it immediately makes you uncomfortable.

It’s very evident that Sam is afraid of Lucifer and is triggered by him. They meet in a dream where they lay in bed together, and he tricks Sam into kissing him. Motifs of love, sex and desire, but all lacking consent. Lucifer has literally been inside Sam’s mind and body, a clear allegory to sexual assault, violation, and coercion. Possession could also be used to describe ownership of an object, which is exactly what Sam’s body is reduced to in their relationship.

This is all in stark contrast to Michael, who never fully appears until he’s already possessed Adam. It didn’t have to be Dean, clearly, Michael is not concerned with the person inside the vessel as long as he has a body to reside in. Unlike Lucifer, who specifically wanted to abuse and corrupt Sam. It was never just about Sam’s body, it was about taking his body away.

Lucifer said it all along, it always had to be Sam.

the current generation of chronically online doesn’t REALLY understand what the internet is all about. discourse used to be meaningless. no one cared if you were shipping siblings because everyone agreed that the reasonable and acceptable alternative was shipping the real life actors. and the actors themselves encouraged both of these things by the way. yes this is about supernatural, thank you jared and jensen.
