So I just rewatched The Real Merlin and Arthur doc on yt (aka the Merthur roadtrip) and I don't think we talk enough about the fact that the Merlin producers essentially sent Colin Morgan and Bradley James ghost hunting for King Arthur's spirit in the site of Camlann with a random old guy.

this is not a hot take by any means but i will always stand strong on the “magic is an allegory for being gay” interpretation of merlin, so merlin will always be a queer character to me, as will morgana. and yes it does make diegetic sense because merlin and freya are just bi4bi… and morgana is in incest with her sister i guess.

i think it is a great disservice that season one of merlin didn’t have a scene similar to that of julian’s exposition in barbie: princess and the pauper, where merlin takes arthur out on the town for a day where he could pretend to be a commoner away from royal responsibilities.

blorbofication to me is when you love a character in such a laser focus way that you somewhat detach them from the narrative from which they are inserted and treat them in a way roughly similar to how you'd treat an oc for which you still have no story and just like to put them in situations just for fun. which there's nothing wrong with btw, it's just that it can easily lead to people forgetting the character engine in a narrative and not just a barbie doll
