5 Years of So Elated + New Record Coming = Free Music!
It's been 5 years since I released my last full-length record, So Elated.
In celebration of this milestone and to celebrate the new album I'll head into the studio to begin recording later this month, I'm offering "So Elated" as a free download.
Most of this record was written in 2006, right around the time my oldest daughter was born. Somewhere between fatherhood and homeownership, the 15th chapter of Luke's gospel caught up with me. That's how these songs were born. It's a snapshot of the ridiculous love of a father, seeping out through the cracks of creation and our messy humanity, set to the sonic landscape of acoustic instruments, vintage keyboards and an occasional lo-fi drum kit.
The album was primarily a collaboration between myself and producer, Mark Mazurek, with the So Elated cast filling in the gaps. It was recorded in the Summer and Fall of 2008 and released in January 2009.
