What kind of world are we living in? Homelessness
The number of people losing their home is rising and it is set to get higher as Universe Credit covers more areas. All those who are claiming now won't get paid for Christmas.
There are the hidden numbers of those who live in hostels or B&BS and those are sofa surfing. And there is what we see in the streets. It breaks my heart.
I recently started to talk to a man who is sleeping rough. Last year, he lost two very important persons in his life, he had a nervous breakdown, was hospitalized and lost his home. Everytime I see him, I offer a rollup or a coffee. I ask how things are going with the Council regarding re-housing. They are slow and because he doesn't have any addictions, he has fewer options for support. He told me about his friend who was also sleeping rough. I gave him the number for Street Link for him and for his friend.
I met her a few weeks later. She has been sitting there for awhile. She is pregnant. The Council keep sending her into hostels with people suffering from various addictions. This sort of hostel can be very chaotic and not a healthy place to be when you are 6 months pregnant! I offered extra blankets but she refused. We had a chat: she grew up in care in the area but she doesn't get any support. As a result, she was told she was making herself voluntarily homeless by leaving hostels in which she doesn't feel safe.
These two are looking out for each other. He is protecting her as she has been spat on before as well as being offered cash for sex... I'm glad they have each other and I will keep checking up on them.
It is getting colder and a lot of people are going to suffer, outside and even at home. Generally, the most vulnerable are the one getting hit the most.
I refuse to live in such cruel and cold world.
Any thoughts?
Hi guys,
I know a lot of you don’t know me or ever care about my blog or anything, but i wanted to let you all know that i’m going through some tough times right now and that I probably wont be on tumblr much anymore. I honestly don’t know whats going to happen to me. Today I had to seriously consider running away from home and it’s honestly been a living hell in my house. I turned 18 in march so I’m legally considered an adult, but in reality I have no clue how to actually live- all I know is that the people who call themselves my guardians really don’t seem to like me at all and that i really need to get away from them. Hence the running away thing.
Anyway back to the reason for this letter- I just wanted to let the friends I’ve made on here know that I won’t be as accessible to talk to anymore and that i’m sorry if I miss your messages. I’ll try to steal back my phone from my parents in the next week or so, then I’ll try to talk as often as I find wifi. I’m really sorry that it’s gotta be this way but i wan’t yall to know that talking to you guys has really helped me feel better when I was feeling low and I want to thank you so much for being there for me
I’ll have access to a computer for the next week or so, so if anyone wants to give me some advice on being on the run that would be greatly appreciated.
again thanks
-Moses

Hello, everyone- friend, aquaintance, internet wanderers! A few months ago, my friend Lilly began a life of house hopping and sofa surfing. In order to live her life as she desired, not as an unaccepting blood family dictated, she moved to Cincinnati, OH. Here she has stayed with multiple friends...
Hey everyone! Doing a GoFundMe to support an effort to buy my friend Lilly some decent interview and regular clothes for the holidays. She’s had a rough way to go with blood relations not accepting her. She has been sofa hopping in Cincy, though she’s currently in a stable enough position to put in applications. But she needs clothes! Torn jeans and band tees do not interview clothes make! Every little bit helps! Share! Reblog! Tell your friends!
