S.Coups: His kisses are the “home after a long day” kind. He’d brush your hair behind your ear, lean down slowly, and press a gentle kiss to your forehead first. Then your lips, soft at first, lingering like he doesn’t want to let go. His hand cups your cheek, warm and firm, and you can feel the steadiness of him in every heartbeat. Every kiss with him feels like safety wrapped in warmth.
Jeonghan: The angel of kisses, honestly 😇. He’s teasing but tender. You’d catch him smiling at you before he even touches your lips, and it’s soft, playful—like he’s saying “I adore you, but let’s make this fun.” His lips are feather-light, and his forehead often presses to yours afterwards, small laughter bubbling between you. Every kiss is both a whisper and a secret shared just between you two.
Joshua: Quiet, sincere, the kind of kiss that makes your chest ache a little with sweetness. He’d hold your hands, look into your eyes, and when he finally leans in, it’s like the world disappears. His kisses are slow, lingering, with a touch of shyness, like he’s scared he’ll fall too hard for you—and honestly, you are. Every kiss feels like a warm sunset wrapping you in calm.
Jun: Playful, nibbly, full of little sparks ✨. He loves teasing you with soft smirks before tilting your chin up and pressing a kiss to your lips. His kisses are alive, energetic, sometimes cheeky, sometimes bold, and always make your heart skip a beat. You’ll laugh, he’ll smirk, and then you’ll both melt into a soft tangle of arms and giggles.
Hoshi: Firecracker kisses. He’s passionate but still soft when you need him to be. His kisses start teasing and warm, and sometimes he buries his face in your neck instead, inhaling you like he can’t get enough. Every kiss leaves your lips tingling, your heart racing, and your body wanting to stay pressed to him forever. He’s all sparks and soft sighs.
Wonwoo: Quietly intense. His kisses are slow and thoughtful, almost like he’s memorizing you with every touch of his lips. No rush, no teasing, just… feeling you, holding you, letting the world fade. When he kisses you, it feels like time pauses, like everything he is goes into that one gentle connection with you. It’s grounding and so deeply intimate.
Woozi: Sweet but commanding in the cutest way 😏. He’ll tug you close and kiss you with precision—soft, yes, but with purpose. You can feel his care in every press of his lips, and sometimes he hums softly against you, like the world is perfect right here, right now. Every kiss makes your chest swell with affection, and his gaze afterwards is… all his heart for you.
DK: Pure sunshine ☀️. His kisses are bubbly, light, full of laughter and warmth. He presses them to your lips, cheeks, nose—anywhere he can. They’re joyous, full of love, and every kiss makes you grin like a total fool. Being kissed by him feels like being wrapped in a hug that never wants to end.
Mingyu: Strong but soft. His kisses make your knees weak without trying. He’ll hold you like you’re fragile and kiss you like he’s memorizing the shape of your lips. Sometimes he’s playful, sometimes he’s serious, but every kiss is a little thrill mixed with comfort—like he’s saying without words, “I’ve got you.”
The8: Gentle waves 🌊. His kisses are careful, soft, and curious. He sometimes tilts his head, examines your reaction, and smiles softly, like he’s trying to see all of you in a single touch. Each kiss is like a secret kept between you, and they leave you dizzy in the best way.
Seungkwan: Drama king 😌💖. His kisses are dramatic in the cutest way, pulling you close with flair, pressing his lips to yours like the world should stop and watch. He teases, he laughs, he melts you all in one go. Every kiss is a little show, a little tease, and a lot of love.
Vernon: Laidback, dreamy, like a lazy Sunday. His kisses are soft, lingering, sometimes distracted, sometimes serious, and always comforting. He’ll pull you close, rest his forehead on yours, and kiss you like he’s savoring a favorite song—slow, beautiful, unforgettable.
Dino: Energetic, ticklish, and playful 🐾. He’ll attack your lips like he’s too excited to wait, sometimes giggling mid-kiss, sometimes nuzzling you, always leaving you breathless. His kisses feel young, alive, full of warmth and laughter, and leave your heart soaring.
OT13 Seventeen || Ways They Connect with You as a Black American Woman
Genre: Established Relationship | Comfort | Cultural Awareness | Fluff/Emotional Intimacy
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
S.Coups (Seungcheol)
Always the steady listener. When you share stories about your experiences navigating Korean spaces as a Black woman, he doesn't interrupt—he nods, lets you vent, and validates you without trying to fix it.
Starts researching Black American history and culture on his own, not performatively, but genuinely—he wants to understand the legacy you're carrying and the nuances behind your humor, your frustration, your softness.
Every once in a while, you catch him hyping you up in half-Korean, half-English: “You’re it, babe. Period. Full stop. Main character.” It’s corny. You adore it.
Jeonghan
Jeonghan starts gently learning the cultural "slang" you use, not to mimic, but to make sure he’s understanding you. When you jokingly call someone “loud and wrong,” he repeats it once, laughs, then uses it perfectly in context a week later.
Makes it a point to remind you that you don’t have to constantly educate anyone—including him. But if you want to share something, he’ll be all ears. “Your life isn’t a lesson plan,” he says, “but it’s still beautiful.”
Keeps a photo of the two of you framed in his room: you with your afro out and sunglasses on, him looking smug beside you. He says it’s his favorite because “you look so powerful it makes me jealous.”
Joshua
He grew up in LA, so he’s already got a bit of context—but he never assumes. Instead, he checks in with, “Hey, do you want space or support today?” when you mention microaggressions or culture shock.
Invites you to join him at Black-owned cafés or events when you both visit the U.S., wanting you to feel recharged in your own culture—and wanting to witness it beside you.
Starts a Sunday vinyl routine with you—pulling records by Stevie Wonder or Lauryn Hill while you dance barefoot in the living room. “You always look the happiest when the music’s right,” he says, smiling.
Jun
Jun is curious and open. If you wear your natural hair differently, he notices and compliments it specifically. “You did this twist one last week… but this is new, right?”
Asks if you want to teach him some AAVE phrases after learning about their roots—he’s careful not to treat them like a meme. He writes little post-its to remind himself of tone/context.
Has a habit of sitting with you quietly while you vent—not offering advice, just giving soft little gestures like rubbing your hand or resting his head on your shoulder. “You don’t have to speak Korean perfectly,” he says once, “and you don’t have to explain yourself either.”
Hoshi
Tries to learn dances to songs you grew up with—sometimes seriously, sometimes just to make you laugh. Seeing him try to pop-lock to Soulja Boy is… an experience.
Gets genuinely upset when someone says something ignorant to you and wants to defend you immediately. You have to gently remind him sometimes that you just want a hug, not a scene.
Buys a bonnet to match yours for sleepovers. “Couple goals,” he grins, tugging it over his hair while you cackle. He wears it proudly—even when the guys tease him.
Wonwoo
Asks you what books shaped your worldview and adds them to his reading list without hesitation. “I want to understand what you grew up knowing.”
Quietly corrects people when they mispronounce your name or say something out of line—even if you’re not there. He believes respect should be standard.
Likes to sit beside you while you do your hair, sometimes handing you clips or holding up the mirror. “It looks like art,” he murmurs, watching your hands work.
Woozi (Jihoon)
Writes a song that samples the kind of gospel or R&B you grew up with, not for public release—just for you. You cry the first time you hear it.
He gets overwhelmed with how deeply you feel things sometimes, but always shows up anyway—googling articles, watching YouTubers you mention, trying.
One night, he pulls you into his studio chair and wraps his arms around your waist. “You’re not too much. I want all of you here.”
DK (Seokmin)
Makes it a mission to learn your family’s favorite call-and-response phrases and tries them out during video calls. “Don’t get beat!” he says once, and your aunties scream laughing.
Buys you a satin pillowcase the moment he learns why you use one. “For your curls,” he says, proud. “And because I missed the feel of your hair on my neck.”
Sometimes gets insecure that he’ll never fully understand your experience, but he always tells you, “I want to spend my whole life learning it anyway.”
Mingyu
Obsessively watches hair tutorials so he doesn’t mess up the part when helping you take your braids out. “I want to help, not hurt your scalp,” he insists, tongue peeking out in concentration.
Surprises you with soul food made from a recipe you mentioned in passing. It’s slightly off—but the effort makes you tear up.
Constantly gassing you up in photos. “Look at my queen. Look at her skin. Look at her jawline. Vogue isn’t ready.”
The8 (Minghao)
Studies African American art history and casually brings up painters you love like, “Your energy reminds me of a Kehinde Wiley portrait.”
Minghao speaks thoughtfully. When you talk about feeling like an outsider, he doesn’t rush to comfort—he sits in the discomfort with you.
Wears a tee that says “Protect Black Women” in English one day. “I like how it feels on me,” he says. “Like a promise.”
Seungkwan
Makes a joke in the group chat using a meme from Black Twitter, but checks with you first: “Is this okay? I want to laugh with people, not at them.”
Loves your cultural traditions and insists on celebrating your holidays too—Juneteenth, MLK Day, family reunions. He brings the best snacks.
Starts learning how to wrap your headscarves, purely because you jokingly said “You’ll never learn this.” He sends a selfie at 2 a.m. with a wonky wrap and the caption: “How’d I do?”
Vernon
Deeply connected to cultural nuance, he always asks about how things feel to you as a Black woman—not just the facts. “Was that okay for you?” he asks after a gathering, even if you smiled the whole time.
Listens to your music. Like really listens. Pulls lyrics from SZA or Noname into everyday conversation like they’re gospel.
Once said: “I don’t want you to shrink to fit in here. I want the world to stretch and make room for you.”
Dino (Chan)
As the youngest, he’s not always sure how to say the right thing—but he’s incredibly intentional. “I don’t want to get it perfect, I just want to get it right,” he tells you.
Learns about cultural appropriation so he can call it out in dance spaces. “I don’t want to copy—I want to respect.”
When you're homesick, he choreographs something to your favorite childhood song. He doesn’t post it. It’s just for you.
[10:47pm] You would be lying if you said you didn’t have a crush on your roommate. His dreamy smile, beautiful face structure, and most importantly, his kindness. There was nothing to not love.
Getting home late from work, you were extra careful to be quiet, he would do the same for you after all. The first thing you see when you walk in is Dokyeom and his long limbs sprawled across the couch, completely passed out. You couldn’t help but laugh at his sleeping state, still in his shoes. He had obviously gotten back from some kind of work at the studio. Whether it was dancing or singing, you didn’t care, you knew he did great.
You turned the television off and grabbed a blanket. You knelt next to him on the floor and slowly took off his shoes, then tossed the fabric over him. He instinctively grabbed it to feel comfort. You shuffled away, and you were about to go turn off the light when you heard his soft snores. It seemed silly, but it was like music to your ears. It meant that he was sleeping well.
The noises coming from his mouth coaxed you back to kneel at his side. You took your hand and ran it through his beautiful hair. It was so soft that you got lost in it. Then, you caressed his handsome face, dragging your hand up and down it, but eventually settling on his lips. You gingerly pushed them closed and removed your hand from him. His face was so warm and welcoming that you leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek, letting it linger a little longer than it should. You felt a blush crawl through your neck and into your face and quickly ran into your room.
~~
He had heard you come in, but stayed asleep. His long fingers reached up to touch where your lips grazed his cheek. A smile crept onto his face. She loved him back.
