A Lost Song
--prompt from @nosebleedclub "soft singing" (6 September)
My tongue curls and waits for the cure, but the bells don't ring at the perfect time. A clock ticks and another person is shot; sirens ring out and it only keeps me back on the sidelines behind the window inside the grates. The prison reaches out to grab me, but I resist through an awkward dance flailing my hands and arms towards an invisible ladder which won't hold me up.
I grind my teeth and open my mouth, but I lost the time along with the battle. Dust flies around and gathers on my lips, but I have no relationship to the antique-- they rust and decay on my rough feet as I prepare my notes and relish on the stage Moths crack open from silk cocoons and escape from my throat-- nobody knows the darkness could sing from the wildest depths. --Elda Mengisto
i’m sorry but a caretaker/team member singing a lullaby to a panicking/dying whumpee? that’s good shit.
[A] Soft Singing - What A Wonderful World
Suitable for listeners of any gender. Some mild roleplay elements where I address the listener at the start and end, but no specific relationship is implied.
I've been a little quiet for a bunch of reasons, but I felt nice today when I was enjoying the sunshine outdoors and felt like singing this song, so I decided to record it. In this audio, I gently ask if you'd like me to sing you something, chuckle, and then proceed to softly sing "What A Wonderful World", written by Bob Thiele (as "George Douglas") and George David Weiss in 1967. The song has been covered by many artists but is most famously sung by Louis Armstrong. After the song ends, I gently appreciate the world and that it's better for having you in it, ending with a little chuckle.
