Musique du Jour: 2/12/16

Today is the equivalent of a final exam for me. I’ve got five nearly back-to-back interviews with faculty members in the Neuroscience Graduate Program at USC, and I woke up feeling pretty confident just based on the “motivational speech” of sorts that we (the other recruits and myself) heard last night from the director of the program. I’m really banking on it feeling like I’m attending a conference in which I’m the only person in the audience for the talks, so it will mainly just be talking a lot of science, which I feel fairly confident I can do quite well. 

Perhaps one of the few “lucky” moments I’ve experienced on this trip so far is that my roommate is from the area, so even though they booked her in the hotel room with me, she actually went home for the evening. I’m almost 90% certain she will do the same tomorrow night (since there really isn’t anything left on the agenda for Sunday, except travel for those of us that will be flying), and I’m secretly hoping she’ll also do that tonight as well.
