There's a small cake waiting on Jami's bedside table when she wakes up. Attached to it's a note. The note reads: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAMI!!!! Enjoy your special birthday breakfast!!!!! I'll be back later to pick you up and wish you a happy birthday in person! Right now I'm at the park making sure everything's taken care of! I love you SO MUCH and I'm SO FUCKING GLAD you're in our lives. Love,

she wakes up with a big stretch and yawn, opens her eyes and sits up with a jerk once the smell of fresh baked cake reaches her. grin wide on her features she does reach for the note first, recognizes the hand writing immediately and is able to make out the most important words. happy birthday. her own name. back later. park. i love you. mama. she puts most of it together through context. barely able to keep the excitement contained - it's gonna be contagious - she then scarfs down the little cake, never putting the note away. after, she goes to get dressed. a dress for once with thights underneath. her hair done in the usual two braids, she sits on the couch and patiently waits for sarah to return so they can get the party started.

She teaches him he deserves to put good food in his body and give himself a good night's sleep. Chrissy might not be the best at looking after her own body but she at least knows what's nutritious. In fact, she's hyper aware of it. I'm convinced eddie had never consumed anything green before chrissy came along. He'd just eat sugary cereal for every meal of the day. And between not having parents around and Wayne's crazy night shift pattern, no-one ever told him he needs 7.5 solid hours sleep per night. Eddie's shocked when chrissy tells him that's how much you're supposed to get. He thinks it sounds crazy high

this is the gentlest headcannon. she struggles taking care of herself but she can take care of him 🥺

it’s almost like she was moving in slow-motion now. for once, he has to look up at her. watches her attentively from where he’s sitting. her hands reach up and eventually cup his face. she then leans down and he feels soft lips press against his forehead. for a moment, he closes his eyes and inhales a deep breath - wanting to take it all in. the feeling soon disappears but he doesn’t want to open his eyes just yet. instinctively, he reaches out for her and gently pulls her in by her waist until he can wrap his arms around her, nuzzling into her.

 it isn't easy, however effortless they try to make it seem.   sometimes, the world truly does seem as though it's pressing in on all sides, squeezing out any last breadth they'd been fighting to take.   but they're not going to say that and ruin the mood, obviously!   wren is entirely content with cherishing this moment instead, snapping a photograph of smiles and jokes rather than a deep philosophical moment over the meaning of happiness and self... or something.

they should at least try to make the girl laugh in return for such a kind compliment!
